November 8th — 2 week old Joey

This is our male Joey who is about 2 weeks old now. Eyes open and adorable. He has very sharp little claws and I will not even try to trip them as he needs to be able to hang on to his parents as Mom often takes him for a ride around the large cage. He and his sister are thriving. We are not sure if we will be keeping him or his sister or both as we had not intended to have another pair until retirement. However it is a thought now…. another cage. We would only keep one though and then get a glider with papers. Ours are rescued so no papers but they are healthy. No matter what we decide to do we are going to make sure the babies are sweet and well handled so whom ever is blessed with them will have great pets. There are so many reasons to go with a good breeder and not a pet shop or glider mill pet from an expo and one of them is being sure to get a tame healthy glider. If we get another glider we will be looking for a hobby breeder (not one doing it for profit) as I think those in it for the love of them would have gliders that get more attention. (Hobby glider breeders tend to only have a few pairs, not a huge colony) This is not to say breeders are not wonderful, it is just that I like small business better. 🙂

So now that I have shown off the adorable little guy I have to get to my NaNo update.

Day 8: Word wars are saving me, I made word count and a bit more and I am thankfully not behind. However I did write about 500 words of pure crap. I want to kill them but NaNo rules state I don’t get to edit till after the months is over so I am just going to grumble about it. LOL

I am starting to worry about a few of my writing buddies…. Catch up!
