Sept 9th — Wool Roving Fun

Night time in the Summer!

Part of Mr. Handsomes curriculum with Oak Meadow is art. As Oak Meadow is waldorf based, it really values art and natural items. His project instructions where to express his summer. We did so with wool roving. One of the things we all enjoyed doing over the summer was counting fire flies and entering them into the Boston Museum of science data base to help with their research.

Again we used the large felt board and instead of felt we used the roving, easy to stick to it to make a scene. Note that the waldorf tradition rather pictures have borders and our scene does not. I hope to help them make a frame next time. We also hope to add colors to our board so that the back ground is not always black.

The children thought this was a lot of fun and want to keep it on the board they said, though I hope they want to make something else with the felt board soon once I show them that their perfect work is saved in a photo here.
