Sept 7th — Nerf vs Felt Monsters

Project Items:

Large Board
Large Piece of felt (Buy off the roll at a place like Jo-Anns)
Staple Gun and staples for it.
Standard sized pieces of colored felt
Nerf Guns with velcro darts!

Last year we found that we had most of this sitting around the house, all but the large piece of felt, we found it at the craft store and had a coupon making this a very cheap project for us. Stretch the felt to cover the board and simply staple the back! Leave the board on a wall and secure with Long screws.

Now help your children cut out felt monsters to shoot. We try to keep with peaceful crunchy attachment parenting and our rule is rather simple, no games that depict human violence, sorry monsters… no rules about not shooting you with nerf darts!

The felt monsters stick right to the felt board with nothing else needed. Then stand back 10 feet and have fun! The darts will hit the monsters and then the monsters and dart fall to the floor. Score! The goal is to rid the night of all the monsters by working together. In this photo Mr. Handsome is going back to the aiming line after retrieving his darts.

It took me years to let Nerf guns in my home and only after the family had a wonderful time with them at Cousins house. I saw the play value and didn’t see any harm. I however still much rather they shoot the felt board than each other. LOL

Felt boards are cheap and you can renew the play value over and over buy making new sets for it, forest animals, farm animals, planets, cars and trucks… Or just cut basic shapes and let the kids build things with them!
