Organic Matcha makes for some beautiful and yummy green tea treats at home!
I love green tea fraps from Starbucks but alas, going out to get them when I want them isn’t the best green option. Today is Earth Day so I thought why not share some green yummy goodness online!
I use Vernal Organic Matcha for my green tea powder as it is USDA Organic and tastes wonderful. It has the same color as the ones I get from the costly coffee shops along with all the benefits. Really though I like it because while I am sure it is a high sugar and fat treat, it is green tea so I feel like it is healthy for me, and it might be, but I am not a doctor so don’t take my word for it. The bag I get has 24 servings in it, has 1/3 the amount of caffeine as coffee, and no sugar (till I add some!).
Green Tea Frap Recipe:
- 2 cups Milk
- 2 teaspoon Sugar (or your favorite sweetener to taste!)
- 2 teaspoon Green Tea Powder
- 2 Tablespoon Heavy Whipped Cream
- 4 Tablespoon Vanilla Ice Cream
- 3 Cups crushed Ice
- Spray Can Whipped Cream
Mix the first 5 ingredients in a blender until smooth. This is important because if you add the ice at first it will just be a watery mess! When well blended then add ice and pulse to combine. Pour into a cup, add spray can whipped cream if desired and enjoy! You can also freeze this concoction and make a delightful ice cream out of it!

Be sure to check with your doctor about any health questions you may have! I know for me being pregnant I can only enjoy this treat from time to time as green tea is known I think to block folic acid, so it really is a rare treat. I enjoyed this while sitting in my garden giggling at my chickens and with my children. I really think green tea improves my energy and mood along with many other things I am reluctant to make medical claims. I can just tell you how I feel and what I love. I love green tea fraps, my garden, my chickens, my children, my husband, the earth, living more sustainable, and not at all in that order!
I hope your Earth Day was fantastic and like everyday it found you making changes in the green direction!
