What Are Some Of The Leading “Green” Companies

GUEST POST!

Conserving Energy

Nowadays, the world is in the middle of an energy crisis as electricity bills are skyrocketing because of energy usage. This not only costs more, but it hurts the planet as oil production soars and gasoline supply decreases. We use energy for everything from fuelling our vehicles to heating or cooling our homes to cooking our meals. Therefore, more companies are now using and selling solar products.

Companies Using Green Energy

Several companies around the world use more energy-efficient accessories and sell energy efficient products to their customers, helping our planet. The top 10 companies include car manufacturers, grocery stores, and phone, Internet, and computer platforms.

While Honda is based in Japan, it has become the most energy and fuel-efficient car manufacturer in the United States. The car company built the Honda Civic to be powered by natural gas, reducing CO2 emissions. It continually reduces them by 5 percent every five years.

Tesco

Tesco is a British grocery store with an onsite gas station. It changed its stores to encourage customers to think more eco-friendly. The stores are now powered by wind and use biodiesel semi trucks that reduce pollution. In addition, Tesco has estimated the “carbon costs” of all their products, as well as offered rewards for their greener customers, like reward points for those that use reusable tote bags.

Whole Foods

Whole Foods is using solar systems at 16 of its locations in the United States with plans to add at least 20 additional ones. They’ve also started new construction of stores, which include minimal energy usage and new methods. They include ideas like installing skylights and control signals to showcase natural light, using LED lighting, and choosing Energy Star appliances when possible.

Microsoft has eliminated their carbon emissions by about a third since 2007. Since then, they’ve strived to become more eco-friendly by enforcing a “carbon charge.” Each branch pays fees for business trips or computer usage to offset their carbon footprint. The money collected is used to buy renewable energy.

IBM

The computer company has started designing products that are more energy efficient and biodegradable. They now make a line of “Smarter Planet” products, which assist customers in tracking their energy resources such as water or electricity and reduce the usage.

Runners Up

Several other companies also have become more eco-friendly including Intel, Hewlett-Packard, Suncor, S.C. Johnson, and Kohls.

If you need solar panels or other solar accessories, then consider buying them from one of the top companies: Yingli, First Solar, SolarCity and SunTech.

Yingli Solar has more than 20 offices in countries all over the world, and it is the largest company selling solar panels. They offer solar panels for both your home and your business, and their technicians are happy to set up a personalized plan for you. They offer a variety of panels, which are affordable and durable for your roof and will bring in natural light.

For the last 10 years, Suntech has been around offering cheaper solutions for their customers to lower their energy resources. If you punch in your information into their Energy Yield Calculator, it’ll assist you in planning what you need. The company sells all sorts of solar panels, including polycrystalline and thin film ones.

First Solar is the only one to primarily use thin-like solar panels. In addition, it’s the first company to produce an entire gigawatt in a year, as well as being the premiere solar company to form a worldwide PV recycling campaign.

SolarCity installs your new solar panels and hook you up to the closest solar system while showing you how this decreases your monthly bill and improve our planet. They also offer an incentive that if your solar power goes into your neighbour’s house, then you will get the credit.

A New Way for Solar Power

Since 2008, companies like Solar City, SunRun, and Sungevity have been offering an alternative to buying quality solar accessories online. Their companies provide you with the option to lease solar panels with no money due right away. You’ll see savings right away in your energy bills, without paying for the installation, but you won’t get any tax credits or cash incentives that come with purchasing the panels.
