Keeping a Healthy Home This Winter

As a parent one of my main jobs is to keep my family healthy. This can be hard because there is just so much conflicting information out there on the topic of health. I am always telling people to follow the money. As I am not a Doctor, please take all my opinions with a grain of salt. You might not agree but please respect that I have done years of research to back up many of my choices and I have some very person reasons for some of the choices I make!

Winter Dusting!

We often remember a long list for spring cleaning, and winter cleaning needs to be no different. Dust coats everything in our homes from the top down. Be sure to change out the filters if you have central air, and dust from the top down in all rooms. Where a mask if you can. Dust can settle in the lungs and cause lung tissue to die and release toxins into the body. Our homes are not always the safe places we think they are!

Another great option to consider in the winter are air purifiers. We do not tend to keep doors open long in winter and indoor air pollution from off-gassing homes and products build up. We currently have 2 in the house and will be getting a 3rd soon. With 6 people and pets, they really seem to help and I can always tell when they are off.

  Deep Cleaning

After the dusting comes deep cleaning, carpets can be one of the most unhealthy things in a home because of all the dust mites and other gross things they can hide from site. Get the rugs done, either do them yourself with green cleaners or maybe if your lucky you have a green carpet company around like these carpet cleaners brooklyn ny. We tend to do our own but from time to time it can just be better to call in the experts. They can do furniture too!

   Eat Whole Foods

One of the other important things to consider with winter health is diet, we tend to end up eating a lot of overly processed foods, or GMO foods out of season. The best thing we can do is try to eat foods whole and as natural as possible. Of course pick Organic when ever possible. There is a saying, pay the farmer now or the doctor later and can you guess what one will cost you more and possible your life?

  Research Before you Vacinate

Do you know there are no official studies done on vaccines that have not been backed by those who are invested in making money off them. None. When the CDC admits that they are not as reliable as they had once told us, we know something is wrong. Many people each year are paid by our government because they are vaccine damaged. It is hard though to get paid when there is harm done or death as often Doctors will refuse to report the side effects or will miss label things. Did you know that you can not sue a vaccine company even if your baby dies because of a shot? They say they warn us, that the danger of death and other things is all on the packaging slip. How often have you been given that slip though and how often has anyone warned you about the side effects? As someone damaged by vaccines, I am not telling you not to get them, I am simply saying we need to do our research!

My husband being in the military got the Flu Mist vaccine a month or so ago, about 10 days after, I got the flu. I had not known he had gotten the vaccine, but soon as I was sick he felt really bad for not giving me a heads up. This is not un-common and even with the vaccine the chances are good he will still get a form of the flu this winter. Vaccines are no simple matter. Your free to disagree with me but please know that as someone who has been harmed by then, and spent so much time researching them as a result, that I don’t tend to listen to anyone who is black and white on this topic. If you research and vaccinate, I respect that choice. I only ask that when others research and choose not to that this choice is respected as well because the fact is, vaccines do kill and some parents rather risk a chance illness that can be treated in this day and age in a healthy person, than knowingly put poison into their child knowing it could well kill them.

Your family, your choices, I hope this gave you some things to think on. As always, I am open to being wrong!

  1. Good post! Winter can be a very messy time of year. During the winter season, home flooring suffers because of the increased foot traffic. So I think floor maintenance is very important in winter.

  2. Great information on a healthy home environment encompassing not only cleaning the home, but keeping a healthy family as well.
