It is no secret, I love the Earth’s Best brand. They are a company I trust to be safe and to be ethical as well. It was rather a surprise to see a friend who is a lactation consultant and La Leche League Leader (among other things) post an image like mine above about her upset over being sent formula promotion by Earth’s Best. She doesn’t have a small baby, and as far as I know none of her children have ever been given formula. I thought it must have been a mistake as she wouldn’t have signed up to get formula coupons.
This week though in the mail I got the same thing. I am thinking they mailed these out to everyone who is a subscriber of any kind. I think it is nice of them to offer coupons but goodness I can see why some might be upset. The saying should say “Your Baby Deserves The Best” as in breastfeeding, and then said if that is not an open, let Earth’s Best be the next best thing.
Inside there is a coupon for $8 off. Not one I can use as my baby does not need it. There is also some comforting information about the formula being organic and available in milk, soy, and low-lactose along with other information. At the bottom right is a small disclaimer of sorts, saying breastfeeding is best for baby. It would have been far better to lead with that information I think. Do what you do so well, put health before profit! We know that formula pushing effects nursing mothers and so it would be better I think to only mail coupons to those that specially sign up for them or make them printable online!
