What is daysy? It is a small device used daily to take your temperature quickly and then tell you if your fertile or not so you can choose to possibly get pregnant, or not! Using the built in programming daysy calculates what it knows about you and with three lights it shares this information with you. When you first get a daysy it spends a while getting to know you, it gives you the yellow learning light. This means you could be fertile but it doesn’t have a baseline to go by yet to know or not. If your trying to not get pregnant please take this time into consideration and be safe.

Because when I started to use daysy I was already unknowingly pregnant, all I got for a month was a yellow light. daysy couldn’t calculate my fertile and not fertile days because I was pregnant.

To get more details about your fertility you can plug daysy into a smart phone and with the free app and the cord the comes with daysy you can see what your month looks like and how your temp has changed. I liked this feature, though of course all I got to see was yellow dots on mine!

I also wanted to mention the packaging for daysy is fantastic. It is beautiful and helpful and has everything you need.

A fertility monitor to prevent pregnancy?

As a busy Mom now 35 I felt like I was past my baby days. However I didn’t love my options when it comes to preventing pregnancy. Hormones never have gone well for me, and I have heard horror stories about the copper IUD, not to mention the costs. I wanted something that felt more natural but that wouldn’t take too long. I know how to chart and such, but taking my temp and recording it everyday had failed me before. No “monthly” subscription price to a site to help you track your temp each day. No costly medical side effects either. Compared to IUD prices, I think it is a good price. Of course to make it more available to everyone I think a lower price would be great. With so many daughters I would love to send them out into the grown up world with a daysy and the knowledge of their own cycles. Course if they are like me….  sometimes things do not go as planned. If only I had daysy the month before I might not be pregnant. Don’t get me wrong, this baby is a blessing and will be loved but I can’t help but feel I am too old for this! LOL I mean we are planning college for our oldest and will be back to washing cloth diapers.

I have been sent a few e-mails now asking “Can I buy a second hand daysy fertility monitor?” and I know some who have gotten used ones. They are not paired to the person and you can get one, pair it with your cell phone, and go from there. Just clean it with dish soap and rinse well and it should be sanitary and good to go! Keep in mind though people are loving their Daysy and it helps women stay pregnancy free when that is what they want so finding a used Daysy could be hard! Can’t hurt to try though!
