The Evil Blue and Black and White and Gold Dress

NO, I am not going to post a picture of it, because frankly no matter what color we see, #1 it is an ugly dress and #2 it has been less than 12 hours of seeing it online and I am sick of it. I am betting I am not the only one. Like everyone else though, I want to know why different people see it differently and why some of us see it both ways at different times.

You have read all the theories about rods and cones I am sure. You have read about how if your emotionally negative you will see blue and black too I am sure. Of course we have all seen what seems to be the original dress in a deep blue and black. The real color doesn’t seem to matter to me much, what I want to know is solidly why over half of us see it one way and not the other. If we can be wrong about the dress, what else can we be wrong about?

If perception is so easy to mess with, how has it taken us this long to notice? Is there hacker naughtyness going on here?

Why has no one pulled the RGB colors and compared them to the blue/white numbers? The computer can’t be tricked right? Of course I don’t want to do it as I am sick of looking at the dress and frankly my eyes hurt after hours of this insanity!

Make it stop!

That doesn’t help! Yes, A and B are the same color!

Ok, finally something to make me feel a bit better! The Llama Drama! Something we can at least all agree on right? Run Llamas run!
