Day 8 Advent Calendar Book – If Animals Kissed Good Night

Each evening of December the children get a new book to unwrap from the Bedtime Elf all the way up until Christmas!

24 Advent Calendar Books

We got a bit behind and so the Elf Brought the children 2 books tonight. As many know we have 5 children and 2 dear surrogate daughters. Our books nights tend to be specially time with Mommy, our 10 year old son, 8 year old daughter, and 5 year old daughter with our 16 year old and 4 month old sometimes listening in. We read the books together, and chat, and cuddle, and laugh while reading. This is a specially dark year for us and this special time is a bright light for us. While some of the books in this years Advent Book Calendar are sponsored by publishers, and some gotten by me, others like this one have been sent by a Secret Santa who found us on paperbackswap.com  Thank you so much to those book worm elves with such big hearts!

Book 8

Storm Baby was so happy to open this book!

If Animals Kissed Good Night By Ann Whitford Paul
Book 8 2

At the start of the book the story introduces a mommy and baby sloth and how they kiss good night slowly, middle of the book they are still talking about these cute little animals. My son liked this part of the story and loved the seal illustration. The writing and art in this book is very fun, whimsical, and silly, it delighted the children.

Book 8 3
I have to agree, this is a fantastic page about little slippery penguins who hug and kiss good night. I love sweet good nights. With a husband in the military he has missed many sweet nights with the children, too many. Good Nights as a family are so special. I love the nights we read, new books, old ones, when ever we are together is a blessing.
Book 8 4
The page our 5 year old loved the most was the sweet and silly elephant page. She loves bath time and so this didn’t surprise me. She enjoyed reading this book and was very active and while doing so, pretending to do many of the things in the book. I think it helped her then get to bed time easier actually!

If you like board books then this is a must have one I think as it is just so sweet and the children, little and not, really loved it.
