Breastfeeding is not Sexual, but still you take issue?

The stroller gang strikes again…. The newest target to attack was breastfeeding.

In the same paragraph one said that they don’t think breastfeeding is sexual but if they get a flash of breast in public then it is not decent. They go on to say that if you can not cover up and hide the breasts then it is not acceptable to do in public. This said of course after some moms shared that they have huge breasts and babies that don’t like covers and so chances are people get flashed from time to time. The one stroller gang mom went on to compare a mother who is breastfeeding and might show some breast to her neighbor who does lawn work in her bikini… both not decent she says. She explains this away by saying she is conservative and she is a bottle feeder as if that should make the insult ok.

What I do not understand is if breastfeeding it not sexual to her, how is it not decent then? The connotation is that the body is sexual and should not be seen in public correct? Or maybe the idea is that it is some how dirty?

Either way I think there is a social sickness when it comes to those against breastfeeding, even if they happen to catch a glance of a dare I say it? A NIPPLE! Part of that sickness I think is that people think it is ok for their uncomfortableness, their issues, to be placed on others so much that they think no one should be able to breastfeed in public unless they can do so invisibly. Why should they have an opinion on how another person eats in public? Would they like it if say vegans wanted to make it so that no one could eat animals in public? Your personal opinion should be about YOUR PERSON not about controlling other persons if they are not breaking any laws.

Your comfort is NOT as important as a baby eating. A baby can not do anything to fix their own comfort, they can not change their mind set, choose to not be hungry, or choose to not be upset by being covered up. Older people however can choose to not look, can choose to see it as normal and NOT sexual. Can choose to accept that a baby needs to eat when ever and where ever it is and that the mother might not be a nipple ninja and so they might see a breast and that it is no big deal.

Breastfeeding is decent, natural, and is the best, it does not need to be hidden.
Add to this a society that already gives women body image issues and such opinions over the human body being decent are just insult to injury.

If you believe seeing a breast while a baby is breastfeeding is not decent, but then you say it is not sexual, then expect me to think either your in denial or just lying. -shrug-
