Have you ever played one of those silly little memory games to pass the time? “I am going on vacation and in my bag I put a Apple Pie!” and then the next person would say “I am going on vacation in my bag I have an apple pie and a balloon!” and the next person adds another item starting with the letter C. I love playing those games with my children, they are always more creative than I am and really funny.
Really though, what are you always sure to pack when your going on vacation?
Vacation means never being without a book!
Ok so for me, I always have to have a book with me. At least 1! I feel naked without books actually. Ask my husband, I have insisted we stop to buy books if I don’t have any with me. I honestly have anxiety when I lack something new to read and we are not at home. I was one of those children who always read at the breakfast table, and really any place and time I could. Yes, I annoyed my parents I am sure!
These days I have gadgets to help me with my reading addiction, smart phones and a kindle, and an iPad 3. We tend to travel with a lot of tech on us. One of the trips we recently took we ended up losing a new DS 3D some how and none of the insurance we had covered it. Our poor 5 year old was really upset. She loves her DS and taking photos with it and playing games on it. Of course, losing a DS is nothing compared to some of the things that happen to others while they are on vacation.
We know someone who has been in an Accident Abroad before. I think we all remember the stranded cruise ship that caused a lot of hardship to passengers a few weeks ago. I am sure some of those people are going sue and might use Irwin Mitchell to hopefully win. If I was stranded like that, I would hope that I had many books on me to help get through it! Not all the books in the world though could make that trip anything but a disaster I think.
We are planning another vacation here soon. Things of course will go wrong, but hopefully just small things! Hopefully the coming vacation will have many wonderful books!
