Whirlpool makes life yummy for my family but they do so much for people too. Let me tell you about what Whirlpool has been doing with Habitat for Humanity and then I will share about our fantastic Crème brûlée.
For more than a decade Whirlpool has donated appliances to families with Habitat for Humanity. They have helped over 100,000 families and have inspired countless others to give back to their communities too. Their project is called the Every day care project.
They have helped people in 45 countries reminding us we can help where ever we are, when ever we are! Every community needs something. If you can’t volunteer or give your simple acts of kindness are still a blessing. Cook for the elderly, donate food for the needy, write to a soldier. No act is unimportant, it all counts!
While I see so many lovely people counting their blessing this November I am reminded that we all need help sometimes and goodness knows I am thankful for the help I have gotten in my life and thankful for the help I have been blessed to be able to give to. We do what we can when we can. I think as a society we just need to be a bit more mindful and reminded that each of us can help and that help matters.
Donate or volunteer with Habitat for Humanity or participate in the Every day, Care Project! Also, to check out the new Whirlpool products!
Counting Blessings
One of the blessings I am counting these days is our wonderful Whirpool Oven and Fridge that I can truly count on to work right and efficiently. They help me make Crème brûlée, a very yummy french dessert.
Crème brûlée Recipe:
8 Eggs
1/2 Cup Whole Milk
2 Cups Heavy Cream
2/3 Cup Sugar
1 teaspoon Vanilla
1/4 Cup Sugar For Topping Crust
(Optional Blue Berries and Chocolate)
1. Bring Milk, Heavy Cream, and vanilla, to a Simmer (watch carefully) no need to stir.
2. Mix 2/3 Cup Sugar with 8 egg yokes.
3. Take semi cooled Heavy Cream mixture and blend with Sugar mixture.
4. Fill 6 small ramekins and place into larger pan with sides. Fill half way with boiling water and place in 350 Degree oven for 50-60 minutes.
5. Remove from oven and let cool then place in fridge for at least 4 hours.
6. Sprinkle with sugar and use a food torch to lightly brown and crisp the top of your Crème brûlée
Wait 10 minutes and serve.
I like to add a few blue berries and some chocolate to add to flavor and a slightly different texture. It tastes so amazing!
