We searched 19 stores today for Santa

Oh my goodness the things we do for our kids!

With so many kids it isn’t shocking that one of them would of course be wishing for a very hard to find gift. One of our children have a love language that is gifting and she loves giving to others and also being gifted to. She used to be the easiest to shop for but this year, because of one toy, she was the hardest, hands down!

We searched 19 stores to get this one gift because at the time all those who had it online where over charging for it and I just wasn’t about to give into toy scalping. So we drove far and wide, not my best eco-friendly move, but I did shop local one could say! Dear husband understood my dedication, and really it was his mission to as he is all about understanding the kids love languages. I think he understands better than I do actually.

This little girl actually knows about Santa though. I asked her a few times if by chance she could pick a different item, and each time she giggled and let me know Santa knows just how bad she wants that one toy….. as the number of stores grew, her answer stayed the same and she giggled even more knowing the torture of Mommy and Daddy having to hunt it down. Husband was sure that our dedication to her, and her knowing it, was all for a good cause.

19 stores….. I hurt. A lot.

With traffic here being horrific normally, it is even more so at this time of year. My life flashed before my eyes 3 times even. As the kids are back into Pokemon GO, so are husband and I. We hatched a lot of eggs.

Friends suggested we call around and not waste time and gas trying. However I used to work retail and it was hard to keep up with calls and work this time of year so I didn’t want to do that to anyone. I don’t like being a bother. It seems rude to me for some reason. My Canadian roots showing I guess. LOL

Not to mention if we did call, they would just pull it up online to check their inventory and see what we were seeing. 10 in stock! They wouldn’t actually go look. You see the toy we needed to find is a certain kind of a certain kind. So we would get to the store only to find every kind but the kind we needed. I was sick of seeing Hop Hops. It became a joke with husband and I. I was so glad we were in it together. There were times he was pulling me along. We drank way to much caffeine on this adventure!

Lucky store 19 though had our prize! Thank goodness! Have you ever been on a mission like this? I am sure this will not be our last, however it is for sure the last one for us for the year and I am so thankful!
