Oh for the love of vacations!

I need one! It is something we hear fairly often right? This is true for the Mom groups I am part of, even the crunchy parenting ones. Sometimes life just gets so hectic and crazy and chaotic that we long for something different for a bit. Like most crunchy parents though I don’t really dream of a vacation away from the kids but with the kids. Oh the headaches though such a trip would include. The planning sounds exhausting on it’s own honestly, never mind the packing!

But this is life right:

So that is life right? I need a break! A magical uplifting break, with the kids!

Of course my military husband has no leave right now given that we used it all in the move to GA. Still, a girl can dream of the next vacation right?

Must find the perfect vacation!

So what are the options? Disney of course, but I am not yet up for that with our tantruming 4 year old. Best not to set her up to fail I think. That would be too over whelming still for her. Camping is an option! The kids love tents and it would mean I wouldn’t have to worry about them messing up a hotel room. We had gone to see wild horses on the beach and that would be a lovely place to camp! chincoteague.com

Course there would be bugs and my 8 year old son has had enough of bugs since we moved here. Wow are there a lot of bugs here in Georgia! So maybe a vacation free of bugs would be a cruise on p and o where someone else could coordinate the activities for us on a ship? Maybe an RV vacation! We could find the open road and again not worry about the kids messing up a room or staining someones carpet? Oh my goodness how wonderful it will be when my kids are just a bit older, the little one specially, and I don’t have to worry so much about these things!

Maybe I just need to settle for a day of fishing like my friend Bobbie suggested!

There has to be great fishing around here I would bet. The fish certainly have enough bugs to eat! Oh… back to bugs. -sigh- I can’t win!
