The 2014 statistics aren’t any more pretty than these from 2013 and the future doesn’t appear all that safer. My own dear wonderful husband is more aware of it all than I am and his job is moving in the direction of cyber security. It requires a lot of schooling but as long as there are scammers, it will be needed. There are jobs that look very bright for the future and getting and education is easier these days like getting this UC Criminal Justice Degree Online. The world is changing so quickly and we have to adapt with it. We also can’t just leave things to the experts, most of us need to be good at many things to manage day to day now. We have to be our own internet security in some ways. Our parents taught us to look both ways when crossing the street, now we have to teach our kids those same traditional things but also to not open e-mail attachments from people they don’t know or go to web sites strangers direct them to and how to make creative but memorable passwords that are difficult for others to guess.
The internet has it’s own safety rules, and they change! We have to stay on top of them to stay safe. Being internet ignorant isn’t an option!
