The reality of children’s rooms

I have been promising friends and family and readers more photos of the 2 week project of giving a childs bedroom a make over. I am almost ready to show you all of them too! I got to thinking though about how easy it might look. Take a look at this video about wall stenciling:
While make the room beautiful is easy enough with a kit from MyWonderfulWalls.com keeping it that way…. let me simply say that I am a real mother, not a picture perfect blogging mother. My house is not always spotless! The kids rooms are not always organized. I want to make it perfectly clear that the photos I will share are beautiful, the room is beautiful, but it will get messy, more toys will be in it when we are fully done with it. It will look lived in. It will look something like this some days:
That is the reality of kids rooms from time to time. It just is. It is not manicured and polished wood looking like Martha Stewart lives there. Too many bloggers try hard to look perfect. That is not me so please please don’t ever think that ok. Chances are I am a lot like you, not perfect, with cereal pieces sometimes found on the sofa. I try for spotless but reality with 4 children is that it never stays that way if your parenting your children and not running a prison or neglecting them. Living is messy, play tends to be so too!
