Today I am Thankful For My Creative Mother

If you know my Mother at all then you must know that she is one of the most creative women on the planet. She has the gift of turning common things into magical moments and art. There are different parts to my Mother of course, but this is the one that stands out the most I think. It is something I am glad my children get to experience as well.

I didn’t get to see my Mother as much as I would have liked growing up. Of course that is a long story and not one for today. Today is about being thankful for the times I did get to see her, and about now, when she is here making a simple day, extraordinary. She has a way about her when it comes to these things and keeping up can be a challenge all her own. She works hard on this, and I admire her for it.

This time what she came up with is pure genius!

Alliday!

As we are a military family and unable to travel to see family very often we miss many holidays together. My Mother came up with a solution for this over our mini Halloween Vacation. She came up with the idea of a Alliday, all the holidays and birthdays wrapped into one silly celebration. A great meal, gifts, crafts, and even did a pinata.

Why yes, that is a Halloween tree!

The whole event was a success and the kids loved it!
