The Shed – Review
One of the things I wanted to be sure to do while on our Mini vacation this Halloween weekend was to eat at The Shed while down here in Mississippi. Not only has this place been raved about online but it also had it’s own show on the food network. The last time I was in this area for a wedding I was lucky enough to try take out from them and I just had to get more.
While I love being a blog reviewing I didn’t intend to review much while on vacation. I couldn’t help it though when we got there and I saw the thousands of people who have left their mark on the structure of the shed. The walls and tables and just about every surface is covered in customer words of wisdom, declarations of love, names, and “I was here” notes.

The Food
The food is amazing! Slow cooking makes all the difference. Their ribs are so tender and fall off the bone. I split a full rack with my sister and we didn’t even finish them all! Really worth the price I have to say. I remembered their Potatoes salad from last year and so glad I got to have more. It is made with red potatoes and has vinegar in it I think. It is different than most I have had and I adore it. I also learned that I like their pasta salad and this is remarkable as I normally dislike all pasta salad. Not theirs though. They have a lot of sweet peppers in it and other things and it tastes great! Another thing I had that I was shocked about was their sweet potato casserole. It has pecans in it and so very yummy! I wish I was visiting long enough here to try everything on the menu!
Mom works there!
My mother is a fabulous cook and baker and has been my whole life. She is talented and hard working and has many skills. Not too long ago she started working at the Shed! She really likes her job and all the characters that work there and the unique history and sense of community at the Shed.

While some companies pay me to review them or give me products there are things and places I just have to review because I stumble upon them and can’t help but review them. These might be the best kinds of reviews though I think. The ones that insist on being written! Nothing was exchanged for my review. (Though Mom did get a discount on our dinner but the Shed has no idea I am a reviewer.)
It looks so good. One of the best parts about being in the south is all the amazing BBQ. Where in Mississippi is this place?

That looks like quite a find! Do they have creamed corn? That’s one of my favorite things to have with BBQ!
This is definitely my kind of place. I love some good down home BBQ and the atmosphere is awesome!
