Yesterday a video hit the internet, disturbing to say the least.
In 2004 this 16 year old girl was beaten by her parents for using the internet for games her parents did not approve. Her father County Court-at Law-Judge William Adams who is still on the bench as I type this is confirmed to be the man in the video swearing and beating his daughter for about 7 minutes with his belt. A statement from him said that it was not as bad as it looked and that he was sorry.
I am sorry people like him in the world do not know better and so children have to needlessly suffer.

I have 4 children, my oldest is 12 and we do not spank, it is not an option.
I would not hit you unless you where trying to hurt me or my own and it would never be my first choice.
Hitting an adult is called assult so why is anything like this ok?
There are excuses, I know them all. Studies show that spanking is harmful.
I hope this Judge pays for the horror he put that child through, and any others he harmed.

This made me terribly sad when I saw it last night. My kids are 14 and 17 and we’ve never spanked. Over the years we’ve received many compliments on how well-behaved they usually are, and many people believe that’s just not possible without spanking. In my experience, it’s the kids that do get spanked a lot who act out the most.
This video, however, isn’t even spanking or discipline. It’s straight up domestic abuse perpetrated on a daughter instead of a wife. Very sad and sickening.

I wanted to mention that spanking with a belt, like that, was common for me when I was a child. It was for others I knew as well. It was a matter of fact. I can’t count how many wooden spoons my mother broke over my bottom. Some people think what he did was spanking.
I think the wife says something about how the girl should bend over and take it like a women. As if women should be beaten with belts… I am guessing the wife was abused as well.
I could not watch this video all the way through. I was abused as a child and this to me is a trigger. This is sad and I hope he gets what he deserve.
