What is ColorMeMonthly?
This company was kind enough to send me their April polish for my honest review. I was curious about this very affordable monthly box and wondered how good the polish could be. I am rather a geek and love books and I am a busy Crunchy Mommy, what do I know about fashion and polish? More than I knew a few years ago! With 4 children who love nail polish and a teen who gets her own monthly polish box I have learned a bit. Did you know many if not most polishes have toxic chemicals in them? Finding non-toxic polish is wonderful and that is the promist ColorMeMonthly makes. CMM’s nail polish is free of toluene, formaldehyde/formaldehyde resin, dibutyl phthalate (DBP), and camphor. They send high quality polish that is non-toxic for just $7 a month. CMM’s mission is to provide environmentally responsible products. They love the planet and they love their customers too! Or at least they have made me feel special and took the time to tell me about their company and their goals. My goal is to have beautiful nails and not feel like I have to sacrifice my eco-friendly heart to do so. Of course my biggest priority is keeping my kids safe! Safe polish for them is so important.
Quality Polish
The polish comes in a simple little box that I and my 4 year old think is adorable. She keeps “borrowing it” and I have to chase her giggling little self down to get it back for this review. No money is wasted on fancy packing and marketing so more money goes toward quality polish!
I tried this polish out right away. I was was specially interested in seeing how smooth it went on. Sadly with some other costly monthly polish boxes my teen and I have discovered some thick and hard to use polishes of poor quality, or ones too runny. I was so happy to see this polish go on smooth with great coverage but not too thick. I put on three coats. It stayed shiny after drying and I really liked that, too many polishes go dull when they dry and require a top coat to add a shine.
In my opinion this is a perfect box for anyone who loves polish or as a gift that is very affordable as a monthly box, the most affordable in my opinion and in my research right now actually. This monthly box would make a wonderful Mother’s Day Gift! It would be a monthly reminder that your thinking of her and that you care. Most Mother’s I think would love this gift!

I got a beautiful red for my box a few months ago. I never wear red but I loved it! CMM has a really great quality polish 🙂 I am waiting, but I am going to get a subscription 🙂

That is a beautiful color. I don’t wear a ton of polish but don’t like polish that chips off after a day or two. That drives me crazy because I don’t have time to paint my nails every few days if I want a bit of color.
I can’t say for sure how long this polish will last without chipping but I will post an update when I do. I know just what you mean though about taking precious time away from things to paint nails and then having them chip so soon!
I don’t know why, but, I love nail polishes…the colors and the creaminess. However, I rarely polish my nails.

It wasn’t until about a year ago that I discovered there were toxic chemicals in nail polish. It drives me nuts when my toddler comes home with her nails painted because of course kids are going to put their hands in their mouths. It’s so great to find a company that makes safe nail polish. I’d be very interested in purchasing these.
