Review: Foobot – Letting you know when your air isn’t great!

I am so happy to introduce to you Foobot! He is my new little buddy that helps give me peace of mind about the air quality in my home. He knows when it isn’t healthy, and gives me tips on how to make it better! Ever since I read years ago that stay at home mothers don’t live as long as our work out of home sisters I have wondered why. One theory I have had is air quality. Most people are inside 90% of their day and indoor air pollution is a huge issue most of us are not even aware of. I have known for years and love my air purifiers but none of the ones I have had actually tell me anything, they just cycle air and I have to assume they are doing a great job. Now though Foobot tells me the truth!

Indoor air is often five to eight times as polluted as outside air, but unlike outside air, it doesn’t have the chance to dissipate. Specially in the winter when people don’t tend to leave doors and windows open. Did you know most indoor air pollution is made by those living in the home? Of course it doesn’t just tend to happen on it’s own.

It happens when we are cooking holiday cookies, when are vacuuming, when we are heating the house up, when we are cleaning, and even as it turns out, when we are doing our hair. There are so many ways that we pollute out indoor air and so many things we can fix and change when we know better. Foobot tells us what is going on and helps us figure it out.

Set up for Foobot really is this easy. Plug it in, turn it upside down and it blinks, scan the box code with cell phone to bring up the app and follow the easy set up. Very quick actually.

Of course when you get an item you are really excited about you look at the whole box, even the bottom of it. The bottom of this box made me giggle! This company knows how treat their customers.

When you open the box you are greeted with this lovely message.

My Foobot DOES like me I swear it!

Normally Foobot is blue and peaceful. However when things are not ok with the air in the home it turns yellow/orange and is not happy. It makes no noise mind you, ever. It sends a wi-fi message to your cell phone and tells you what the issue is and gives you tips to find the source and change things. In this case, it was hair spray! I didn’t think it would pick this up from the bathroom, but it did! This little bot knows when the house needs to be aired out from cooking things like bacon, and when smoke from the wild fires was getting into the house as everyone kept coming in and out of the house. I am learning a lot from this little bot. It even tells me what the local outdoor air pollution rating is. I believe it does that by checking weather sites online and passing the info to me.

It is compatible with other kinds of devices to help your home run smoothly and help everyone be healthy too. It tells you the humidity and the temp and a lot more. I think I will be learning about this little bot for a long time!
