Fuzzy Wonderz – Is it real?

As a mommy blogger I love reviewing products with my kids. I love researching the companies, finding out what others think, and really diving into a product. When I saw Fuzzy Wonders pop up on my facebook wall I was a bit shocked I had never heard of them. They look a bit like a Furby and they promise to hatch like a Hatchimal. It promises to sing and talk and interact with your child in ways I haven’t seen in those toys so far. So of course I had to look deeper!

All comments are my own thoughts and opinions. Do the research and form your own of course.

To be clear, while many have questions about this product and company, there is no evidence of this being a scam and no one has reported that as far as I can find and as far as readers have told me. 

Right away something seemed odd. The facebook page is just a few days old.

Comments on it already say Fuzzy Wonderz is a scam (those comments have been deleted. So far their is no actual evidence this is a scam) because of things like adding the item to your cart and it charging more. (this has been corrected) I haven’t seen this personally yet. Now I am not saying this is a scam. I am saying I am curious and something seems off… it could just be the marketing team or lack there of.

So on to their actual site.

Their About Us page is lacking in any details about the company, who created the toy, when they started making them. No address for the company, no actual names. This makes me as a consumer uneasy.

Another great place to learn about a company is their Return Policy page. This one doesn’t make any sense to me though:

Every product is satisfaction guaranteed and may be returned within 14 days of delivery date.

We will accept returns of new / unused merchandise within 14 days of shipping date for a full refund or exchange. The items must be in new/unused condition (i.e., the product must not be “hatched”) and include the original packaging with all tags attached.

   How can it be a satisfaction guaranteed policy when the returned item must be new and unhatched? Also, they expect the buyer to return the product at their expense. No word on if this applies to broken toys and what the terms are for that situation. Not looking too great in my opinion.

So far I have been keeping an open mind, perhaps they are just late to the game, a new company, and trying to learn the ropes. So I look at their Terms and Conditions. Again, nothing identifying the company beyond the name of the site. No contact information beyond the phone number at the bottom of the page. Lots to read here. Then this hits. (Bold letters are from THEM!)

 and added a bit further… still in bold unlike most of the rest of the terms:

Ok, so they take no responsibility for…. anything, even defects. No warranty. It all reads rather wrong too I think. I have to shake my head clear after reading that mess. I think we learned from it that they are going by New York law, so that is the USA. That is some info at least. Still no address.

Back to their facebook page at least. They haven’t replied to anyones comment yet but in bright happy hopeful news:

 Sharon Calderone Schuler posted:  I called their customer service number today and spoke with a live person. He was able to pull up my order just by my last name and confirmed my other purchasing info (order number, first name). Told me that the order I placed yesterday should be shipping by the end of the week at latest.

So that is hopeful right? The phone number is from New York. That is positive.

The website was started November 11th.

The site does say free 2 day shipping but the banner at the top now says there are processing delays. In theory though someone must have gotten these by now if it is a real product shipping to people. Yet there is not one independent photo of this toy to be found. Google brings up bare bones of the new stuff the company has released. Not a single review to be found…..

Even if these are not name brand, they are certainly cute. I wish I could tell you though these are worth the price or even real.

On Ebay there are 5 for sale right now, all with prices over the website.

One seller is: gadgetsnmore2016 and has a 65 for selling and 96.5 rating. I really don’t tend to buy from those who don’t have over a 98% rating. He is selling this for $83.99, free 2 day shipping. Shipping from Phoenix AZ.

Another seller is my_daily_specials with over 4000 sales and a 98.9 rating. He is selling them for $125. Shipping out of Texas. He is calling one: Fuzzy Wonder Hatching Toy Boy Fuzzy Wonderz Hatchimal. I am fairly certain he can’t be using the title Hatchimal legally, and this certainly isn’t one.

Interesting. Still no photos that are not the stock photos.

From their FAQ it says these guys are 5 inches tall, take AAA batteries that are included. Unlike Hatchimals they do not walk. Apparently though they come with a free app that works with ios and android.

No APP comes up in the APP store for Fuzzy Wonderz for me…. that doesn’t seem good. 

I hope to hear back from the company and hopefully clear all this up for us all!

Update: 1pm 11/23 They have no yet e-mailed me back but are now commenting on their facebook page! They posted that the APP would be available in 2 weeks. (would be great to have that info on their site with the toy?) They are promising a video of the product on Friday. They are also deleting comments of concern from their facebook wall. 

Update 9pm 11/23: Still no reply. I am guessing they are very busy. Someone posted they has been told their Fuzzy Wonderz would be delivered today, however it wasn’t… no tracking information was given, however they did refund her and never mentioned returning the item if it does show up making one wonder if it ever shipped…. 

Arminda DeHoyos Lara Calderon said: I ordered on the 17th, they told me yesterday my item would arrive this Wednesday, November 23. I never received any notification and No i did not receive the item today. I did email them last night and they issued me a refund. Just find it odd that they didn’t say anything about returning the item once it arrived…

    Update Midnight 11/24: So I was wrong, the website fuzzywonderz.com was created on November 14th 2016. Oddly, it is privacy restricted, meaning the company went to the effort to make sure they are not tracked down. See if you search the domain info for say Furby, you get Hasbro and an actually address. Same thing with Hatchimals, you get a name, company, and again, address. Why all this effort to hide oneself I wonder? Still no e-mail back from them.

 As you can see the purple “Fuzzy Wonderz” is one of 4 options from this manufacturer. It also has the “APP” options that the Fuzzy Wonderz site talks about. Looking at the page, in my opinion, this toy is the same. The color options could be more than reasonable as a change to be made given the option on that site and the 5000 unit minimum. The maker calls this toy a Hibou. They are sold for $4.80 – to $5.80. These DO NOT however come in eggs. There are other companies who could be making this as well, possibly with the egg. Perhaps the American company shipping this in is making the eggs themselves? I think that is very cool, however now finding the manufacturing price of the core unit… is the $59.99 worth it? 

Update 1pm 11/24: And on further looking into this I found the exact Hibou Hatching toy! The details are a bit different. You can check it out here. I am so happy about this as now readers and shoppers like me have a bit more information so we can make informed purchased. https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/2017-new-design-APK-enabled-smart_60564778929.html From this site you can see the actual cost per unit with hatching egg and packaging is: $9 – $12 plus I am assuming shipping from the other side of the world. (Update, a day after posting this link, it no longer works either, it says product unavialable. This is sad as it had more information on the product than the current Fuzzy Wonderz site does. I am sorry to my readers as I should have shared more of what was on the site so that you could gather more information about it. The image below though did come from that link, it is a real product, and you can see them below.)

    So these toys are very much real, not just photoshop mockups, in my opinion now and I would fully expect people to be getting them and reviewing them! Looking forward to hearing how great (or not) these toys are! 

Update 11/25: What an adventure so many of us are having trying to get to the bottom of Fuzzy Wonderz and learn all we can about these cute little birds. So today the company put their first video up on their site. You can check it out on youtube as well! https://youtu.be/XgryXubEBMY    I think most are now confident this is a real product, now has anyone actually gotten one? A fantastic and caring reader here commented about her time talking to customer service and it turns out the company has shipped over 10,000 of these toys so far. Not a peep though of a review or home photo? I guess we could assume that all 10,000 toys are wrapped and waiting for an excited child to open in a month. In other news, the sellers on ebay that my readers have thus far talked to don’t actually have these toys in hand… they are waiting on getting their orders too! Still no reply back from the company and more and more comments are going missing from their facebook wall. Make of that what you will.

Update 11/25 6pm: Steve from Fuzzy Wonderz e-mailed me back! He is going to call me tomorrow afternoon so we can chat! I might be reviewing this actually, and that of course would be fantastic being I am just so curious and excited. The kids of course would be over the moon. Also, as stated on their facebook page the Fuzzy Wonderz APP is now live on Google Play! We down loaded it of course. Hopefully tomorrow I remember to ask him how the bird communicates with the APP as the app doesn’t seem to ask permission to use bluetooth or anything, just the microphone. As the china links no longer work I can’t look there to find this information. Any other questions you have, let me know and I will ask!

Update 11/26 1pm: Thank you to those who have contacted me trying to help everyone figure out the mystery that is Fuzzy Wonderz. I wanted to remind everyone that this all started because this toy looks fantastic but there just wasn’t enough information out there in my opinion to make me feel comfortable ordering yet so I went digging. This doesn’t mean I think this is a scam though. Actually after finding this is an actual product, and hearing from so many people who have talked to the company I am feeling a lot more comfortable. There are however still questions.

I really like the winter theme on the Fuzzy Wonderz APP.

In other news, a reader e-mailed me letting them know the company name that was charged to their credit card in hopes of helping everyone figure out just what company is behind Fuzzy Wonders. It comes up as Modern Gentry (this I have been told by Steve over the phone isn’t the parent or related company). I don’t have much time right now to look into them but will tonight!

Update 11/26 3pm: I talked to Steve from Fuzzy Wonderz today! One of my product questions was just how the little bird communicates with the APP as it isn’t bluetooth, it is by sound, a low level sounds I don’t even hear when using the APP. I have a theory that this is how the Furbys my kids have had these last few year have worked too and I just didn’t know it! I learned the biggest shipment for them will go out to customers on Tuesday and my family will be a part of that so by the end of the week I should have a review for you all. 

I am feeling confident this product is real, I feel since the start of this that it is the best of the Hatchible and Furby toys and I want to see what my kids think! I am waiting to hear back from Steve about the Parent company because I think that will give us a lot more confidence in this. 

Basically, how this came about was parents not being able to get a certain toy most of us can’t find and stumbling upon this Fuzzy Wonderz toy that wasn’t in the US market yet. Seeing a need, they scrambled to try and get it here for their kids and to help fill a need. I think this scramble explains a lot of my concerns with the lack of information to be found about them online. Steve is confident that they have the knowledge and infrastructure to do this so quickly because they have experience with other products. Clearly their design team in my opinion is fantastic. I think though they need to give people their business history and roots so people can be confident shopping with them.

Something I hadn’t noticed before was this toy is a bit like the Tamagotchi from our childhood. Once it hatches, it takes care a bit like they did. Kids love nurturing things and this nurturing aspect might be one that keeps your child playing with this toy over time, and not just sitting it on a shelf or forgetting about it so soon in the toy box. This is an aspect I am specially interested in now.

I am going to talk to him again next week. I hope to remember to ask him just how this toy hatches as it doesn’t have the beak type of a Hatchimal and that isn’t clear in their video. I am sorry I forgot to ask about this today as I know many of us have been wondering about that.

One last thing I wanted to add, I was told in the future they will be releasing other animals to hatch!

Update 11/27 2am: There is a video! So my understanding is that these toys are actually Hibou toys. This is a great thing in that we can learn a bit more about the toy as no one has reviews yet!

Update 11/29 10pm:  A lot of comments have been deleted from the Fuzzy Wonderz facebook page, this has gotten people reasonably agitated. Some are reporting having requested refunds last week, so far no one I have heard from has gotten the promised refunds. However, when things are good, people don’t tend to report in, that is the nature of reviewing and why positive reviews are so important to businesses. When things are not going well, everyone tends to hear about it. For this reason I have tried to keep an open mind.

As you know, Steve was supposed to call me today. He wasn’t able to though and said he will call me tomorrow at noon. I sent him a list of questions. If you have any you would like me to ask please let me know.

As of now, I have not heard of anyone getting the tracking information they were told they would get today. So we wait for hope!

 Update 11/30 3pm: This isn’t looking good people… I can’t find anyone who actually got a shipping notice as promised yesterday. Instead people calling are now being told they will get shipping notices Friday or next Monday! Additionally Steve didn’t call me today, hasn’t contacted me at all today. I want to give him the benefit of the doubt but….  It has been 2 weeks since this product has been advertised to people and still no one seems to have one when the site said 2 day free shipping. (though that changed they said due to high demand) Certainly someone from those early days should have one by now right? 

   Someone on the facebook page mentioned that Tony, the customer service guy mentioned they are talking with Walmart to get their Fuzzy Wonderz in there. That would be really impressive given the months it takes to do that and how the Toy Isles have been planned out for the holidays for months before now. Perhaps he means for summer next year? In anycase, I can’t find a business license listing for this company in the state of New York… I was in hopes if I could that would have everyone here feeling more hopeful!

  I would like to just say thank you all for your patience with me, my comments here are moderated as I get a lot of spam comments, I have to filter through. Just so you know, after a few approved comments then the site here will just let you comment without someone on my side having to approve it. If your comment doesn’t show up please know I am not censoring you, I just haven’t gotten to yours yet and it will soon! Thank you all for helping with this topic!

Update 12/1 9pm:  I wish I had better news for you all but I just don’t. I still have not yet found anyone who has gotten their order. Many people are reporting calling in to get a refund and not getting it yet. Some people have been waiting 2.5 weeks for their orders and while promised that they would have shipping as of last Tuesday are being told now it will be next Wednesday. We don’t have a real name for this company, and while I have been told by Steve that this is an LLC, and they legally have to have a public mailing address, I can’t find it for the name of the company he provided me. He told this is because people will send returns to an address and it gets complicated. I wonder then what address people are supposed to send returns too? Shouldn’t that be on their site already? Unlike, sadly, like people suspect, there will never be a product to return in the first place. I like to be hopeful though and this is all just new, and thus the mess. It is a beautiful site honestly, and possibly a wonderful product even, but so far there are no “bones” to this company for most of us to count on yet.

Update 12/2 9pm: I still can’t find anyone who has gotten one of these. People are reporting getting refunds, some still have not. There is now a recorded message when you call the company. In happier news, they released a very adorable in my opinion action video with little kids opening and hatching a Fuzzy Wonderz. This brings up a question we have had now for a while, how does it hatch. It looks to hatch differently than the video they posted before. Before it looked like it hatched like a hatchimal, small little holes around in the circle, but with the first video it didn’t look like anything was poking out and looked very “stop motion video”. This one jumps around a lot but the holes made are large, in one area, and not all around the top. I still can’t figure out how this hatches! Beyond this hatching issue, I will say whom ever is making the videos and the graphics are doing a beautiful job otherwise, unlike whom ever is in charge of supply and shipping and over all dealing with customers because goodness they are pissed! I even got an invite to a group about this product, or rather the issues, of people who have been banned from posting on the Fuzzy Wonderz page because of their understandable Frustration and outrage over it.

Also, they say they are the “2016 Toy Of The Year”. WHO says that? I can’t find anyone saying it because I can’t find anyone with one. LOL Also, there is no longer a “due to popularity we are shipping late” warning on their site, instead is says Free 2 Day Shipping and IN STOCK. People have been waiting for these for over 2 weeks…. no one has one… how is it in stock? Maddening I tell you! This isn’t hard to fix on the site, be honest! I can see more and more people getting upset by this…. not good.

Update 12/5/2016 2pm: Some people have been waiting 3 weeks for one of these toys and yet the site still says “In Stock Ready To Ship + Free 2 Day Shipping.” And people who haven’t looked this company up believe it. One of those parents is very upset and called the Atterney Generals Office in New York and was told to fill out this form: https://forms.ag.ny.gov/CIS/internet-complaints.jsp

If you have a complain about this company, you can fill out that form too.

As people are being told this is a “Private Company” and given no mailing address or real person with full name to address then perhaps the government can get some clarity on this and give consumers confidence again.

Update 12/5 10pm: Darn it Steve, you told me that Modern Gentry was not the parent company or related to Fuzzy Wonderz when we spoke over the phone but now the https://moderngentry.com page redirects right to Fuzzy Wonderz! So they related. Disappoint in you Steve!

Update 12/5 8pm: Fuzzy Wonderz has made the news!

Update 12/6 10:35 – At about 10:20 The Fuzzy Wonderz Facebook page posted a photo of the toy boxes and goodness this made me happy and I bet a lot of others too!

I messaged Steve to see if he would still be sending us here at A Little Crunchy one to review for you all and he said yes, at the end of the week. However then facebook showed me this message in the message window: This message has been temporarily removed because the sender’s account requires verification.

WHAT?

It gets worse.

Now the Fuzzy Wonderz Facebook page is gone! While this is being considered a win by those calling the company scammers, those still hopeful now find themselves further concerned. My concern is that this will further limit customers voices and the facilitation of information.

Update 12/6 11pm: We know what happened. A customer found the account that created the fuzzy wonderz facebook page and as it doesn’t look like a “real” account because it has no photo or real information, they reported it to facebook. It not only took down the profile, but the company page. Steve e-mailed me and let me know clearly that Fuzzy Wonderz did not take their own facebook page down, they hope to get it back up shortly, and they are not running away with anyones money. 

Steve also sent me this close up of the boxes as readers where wanting more photos!

Update 12/7 9pm: People are reporting not only shipping confirmation e-mails but showing movement on their shipment. I have been told the shipping says they are coming from Hong Kong and say they will get here in 2 days. Like most people, I am confused as most things I order from China take 3 dang weeks! We will see!

In other news, there is nothing more scary than parents protecting their children. I have discovered there are some fantastic parents who are fantastic at research. Many things have been found and you can see that info in the comments. One thing though I need to mention, I am not ok with posting private addresses and phone numbers for employees. Please do not post those things in the comments. While it is very rare that I refuse to post a comment, those I will not support. It really is a safety issue and not one I want any part of. No matter how angry you, no matter how justified you are, you could be sending a very angry person to the door of someone innocent, with possible children involved.

Update 12/8 3:40pm – Because customers asked for it, Steve did an unboxing video for us of the Fuzzy Wonderz! It is his first unboxing and I think he did great! Oh my goodness this toy is so cute! I love how it knocks back. The hatchimal for sure doesn’t do that. I also like that unlike a hatchimal you don’t have to play the “eye color = do this” game. Our Hatchimal took so long to hatch and it was annoying figuring out if we were doing it right. This looks like it will hatch with or without your help. So kids can explore and play with it without worry about “getting it wrong.” I can picture future unboxing videos by kids will be adorable.

Update 12/9 1pm: After weeks of following the wonder about Fuzzy Wonderz customers are finally reporting getting this toy! They are even sharing photos!

Update: 12/10 8pm – Readers are reporting some happy Parents and Kids have gotten some Fuzzy Wonderz and there are even some youtube videos to now be found of kids unboxing these!

There are also reports of some people having these toys arrived some how damaged. Either cracked or already talking. I heard the company is working to add something to the packaging to make the shipping smoother. If you get one, make sure to check that it is ok before wrapping! The facebook page is down so call the number for the company or send them an e-mail. From what I have been told, they get over 1000 e-mails a day and are trying to get back to everyone.

One last issue, a few people are reporting that their orders are being canceled. I confirmed with Steve that this is not due to a supply issue. Not sure what all is going on with that but again, try to contact the company and keep us updated!

Update 12/16 11pm – People are certainly getting Fuzzy Wonderz now and I am still shocked and surprised that items shipped from Hong Kong get to people in 2 days! I certainly learned something from that part! People are reporting them coming in the mail just fine, while others are still reporting getting broken toys and struggling to get replacements or refunds. Some are still reporting having their orders canceled though they didn’t request that. In other words, things are still a mess. BUT we know they are for sure real! Do kids love them? I can’t tell you personally as though I was told one was on the way to Little Crunchy for review, it hasn’t shown up.

Our Fuzzy Wonderz community has also been shocked to see Fuzzy Wonderz in the FYE stores, in stock, and so far, not broken!

3:30pm – I have been told these are actually shipping now as people order them, so in theory, if you order before Monday, you should get them by Wednesday, from the Fuzzy Wonderz site, not the Amazon one. Turns out the Amazon one is not the same company but vendor who got a wholesale order from Fuzzy Wonderz.

Update 12/21 – We finally got our unboxing and review up of the Fuzzy Wonderz and guess what? It is a WIN!

    I was wondering the exact same thing about this, I tried finding it on you tube to see it hatch and see if I’d actually like to get this as a replacement for the kids wanting hatchimals…. but I can’t find anything on them anywhere.

      IO ordered one in November…Called the company three times and received two different ship dates, both came and went…E Mails went unanswered…I used my Discover card and charges were returned to me…Shame at Christmas, there are people like that

    I unfortunately did not do my homework before ordering 2 of these so I am out $120. I did request a refund and was told it was issued back to my account but it has not showed up on my online banking. Oh and I had to cancel my debit card and get a new one because I was so uneasy about using it for that transaction. The weird thing is they emailed me back in less than 5 minutes which if they sold so many of these you would think they would be getting more emails about where they are since tracking info is non existent.

      I ordered one too. If you used a charge card start a “chargeback” with your bank

      or card holder. That’s what I did. You will get your money back, they won’t fight it

    Thanks a bunch!!! I’ve ordered 3 haven’t gotten them yet nor have I gotten a reply to my two emails! Thankfully I paid via PayPal just in case there was an issue. I now wonder if I should contact PayPal for a refund? Any future info you find would be great and I’ll update everyone as soon as I have anything new to report!     Ok, so I finally got through via phone. I spoke with a person who was clearly clueless ans swore I’d have all three of my orders by Monday or Tuesday but couldn’t provide tracking info. When I pressed as to why that was the case I was told bc they’ve not shipped yet!!! EXACTLY!!!!! This guy stumbled on and on as to why I’d have them by Monday or Tuesday until he placed me on hold. I have to say as soon as I was placed on hold I honestly thought I was likely placed on forever hold never to speak to anyone at that number agsin.to my surprise “Dteve the supervising manager” picks up only to tell me “he over heard a new rep” giving me incorrect info. So according to “Steve” by Tuesday at the end of business” I’ll have tracking info for all three of my orders. I promised him that if I didn’t first thing Wednesday Am I’ll be contacting PayPal, my bank, NY attorney general, the BBB, and anyone else I can to report possible fraud. I also let Steve any his “new rep” of three days that there is already talk on the net of a possible scam, of course they assured me that’s not the case. At this point only time will tell. I’ll be back Tuesday to report as whether I actually do get tracking info and then after delivery if I even get that far. Honestly I DO NOT have the warm ans fussies just yet, hopefully I’ll be proved wrong!!! Also I saw the two sellers listings on eBay as well as another seller who had only one Fuzzy Wonderz listed I plan to go back and see if this seller actually has a Fuzzy Wonderz “in hand”. Steve informed me they’d already shipped 10,000 orders, not sure I believe that as I’ve been searching every where online for anyone who has one in hand and I find ZERO. Now I find thst odd that 10,000 are floating around out there but not one person has actually posted any where that YES they indeed have one.

      Oh my goodness what an adventure everyone is having with this! While many of the comments on the facebook page seem to have gone missing (been deleted by the company?) I still have yet to find anyone who actually has this item in hand. It is wild isn’t it? It might be because I am a blogger though, I am so used to bloggers getting products and doing reviews of things before they even hit the market so readers are ready and informed. I maybe some how spoiled in this way, always expecting reviews to be out there floating around the world to help me make purchases. I don’t think so though…. there should by now be at least one right? Anyway, I hope this works out for the best and by Tuesday night that you have tracking information. Thank you for thinking of us all and helping us add pieces to this puzzle!

        Well let me just say they knew you by name!!! So maybe you ‘ll get an email or call from them! When I stated I’d read online there were concerns right away they asked if I was Kimberly and was my blog Little Crunchy! Ha ha so clearly they are aware folks are now talking. Supposedly they recieved 1600 emails in the last few days. Steve did admit that the website was very new. The link to the Alibaba states the item is no longer available, I’ve ordered stuff from thst site in the past day had no issues. Steve did tell me their product was made in China so I feel certain that’s the site they’ve ordered these from. Only time will tell and you are correct I’d get my money back if it’s not legit. That said if it’s not I’ll still make some noise so that others aren’t scammed as well. Thanks for your research!!

          Oh my! I hope the company is understanding of the position they have put we the consumers in and doesn’t take my post as some kind of attack. Truly I think if all is on the up and up with them that they see this post as positive for them as I love supporting small businesses. I had thought of calling but I didn’t want to take up any customer service time when so many people need to talk to them about their orders. Hopefully though they will get back to me. With research though I have managed to answer a lot of the questions I have had, though still there are more and so we wait and try to figure it all out. Thank you for your support and help in this!

            I’m pretty certain they will contact you as Steve said as much. That said I’m still not 100% convinced it’s not a scam!! My guess is it’s a terribly cheap knock off of the Hatchimals. There was one on eBay last week for $99, it’s now gone and I’ve messaged the lister to see if she actually had the toy in hand but mo word back yet, I’ll update if I hear back. That said I’m about to call back and quiz Steve agsin, bc I’m concerned this thing won’t work if I even get it and then I’ve got zero recourse as it clearly says once hatched/opened not returnable. My honest opinion is someone stumbles onto the Albiba site and wiped their inventory out and has now set up this “new ecommerce” site calling themselves Fuzzy Wonderz. I could be wrong but Steve told me more than once they were not in stock but they’d supposedly already filled and shipped 10,000 orders. I don’t buy that at all as I’ve looked every where online for anyone who has purchased and actually gotten their order. Also odd Steve kept telling me they were only selling to US buyers at this time, no clue why.

              I would love to talk to Steve. If this all as it appears I could be a great voice for them, again I love small business. Like you though, I am not 100% sure what is going on. I want to buy one but like other readers, I don’t want to risk my credit card information or my paypal account for that matter. We are a not tiny military family and every penny to please these kids counts these days. We already have a hatchimal, but other kids would love something new to hatch and play with and my geeky self badly just wants to compare the three products and give readers the info so they can spend their pennies in the way they feel will please their children the best, and lets face it, hatchimals are hard to come by right now so an alternative is fantastic, in theory so far! Wishing you the very best! Lets hope this works out! Wouldn’t that be some holiday magic! 🙂

    Anyone else have doubts about the video. Almost looks like a bunch of still frames were taken of the egg hatching. Also looks like the beak location would not allow the egg to crack where it did( too high). Could they have gotten ahold of a Hatchimal egg and painted it??

      Great questions! I wondered about the hatching as well, the beak in the video looks well below the crack line in the video, that might not be the actual case though. I thought perhaps the ears somehow did the cracking as the beak is rounded and having seen an actual Hatchimal hatch last week, the beak is pointed and goes in and out to crack the egg, I am not sure the rounded one like the Furby can do that, but perhaps this product is different enough that it does! I went to grab the bottom of my daughter hatchimal egg to see if they look the same given your question and I can’t find it. I did take photos and videos of it hatching and perhaps I got a shot of the bottom of the egg. From the video though and my memory I think they are different. I could be wrong. I will check videos sometime today and hopefully get the Hatchimal review up here soon and get back to everyone here about your questions. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this.

    I am not concerned with the charge on my account. My concern is that they have my credit card information, all of it. I think this is a scam to obtain information for credit card fraud. Anyone else worried?

      I badly want to review this product and while many companies send me products to review for free, sometimes like other reviewers I just go out and buy things I badly want to review. However I can’t risk my credit card just yet when I can’t find anyone who has gotten one yet. I am however hopeful! Stay hopeful and as always, specially this time of year, keep an eye on your credit report. Remember even beloved Target had their customer credit card info hacked. We can never be too careful!

    If you do an IP address lookup the ASN owner is Shopify Inc, which is an ecommerce platform helping other people sell stuff online. There is no company name or address for Fuzzy Wonderz, making it very suspicious.

    I also could not find any apps in Google play store, which makes it more questionable.

    Reading what you’ve written this has every sign of a scam. I have dealt with scammers in other industries and this just looks the same. I hope I’m wrong. I would suggest getting and using a prepaid visa to buy if you’re going to. Worst thing that way is they get you for the amount of the toy. If you use a regular credit card they have all your info and can rack up charges. If you have already used your credit card I urge you to check your account online daily for awhile. Scammers will usually run a small charge to make sure it goes through and if thats not caught a few days later they hit you with the big charges, Also about you reviewing one. Another sign of a scam is they will send out a few legit items, especially to reviewers. Because if you receive it and give a good review more people will feel confident to order. Another thing to consider is most kids who want a hatchimal want the real deal not some knockoff from China. I think it may be the best move to wrap up an IOU maybe a pic of a hatchimal and promise to buy it after Christmas.

      Great considerations! I hadn’t heard of bloggers being used in review scams like that before. It is certainly something to keep in mind. As for most kids wanting Hatchimals and not a similar toy, I have asked my own kids and they would be more than happy to get a Fuzzy Wonderz, mostly though I think because they have a Hatchimal already and the Furby just does more…. but more on that when I get that review up! The reason I am so focused on this company is I think the toy could possibly be the best of both worlds but there is no way to know at this point as no one has reviews.

    My theory: someone stumbled upon the alibaba product and a light bulb went off… they set up their own website, changed the name of the product, and either planned to pre-sell thousands of them in order to fund their bulk purchase from alibaba, OR they’re doing a “drop” shipment where they’re ordering the products from Alibaba as they’re receiving orders and the items are being shipped to the customer straight from Alibaba, not “Fuzzy Wonders”. Only problem is… they’re no longer available at Alibaba so maybe this person “Steve” just got way in over his head and didn’t forsee a problem with the original seller (alibaba) not being able to ship. So now that “steve” has paid Alibaba with a portion of the $ received from his orders, he’s unable to refund everyone.
    Anyway, that’s just my theory. I think it’s WAY too coincidental that there’s not an actual image from ANYONE who’s received one of these toys.

      I 100% agree with you!! “Steve” @ Fuzzy Wonderz as much told me the exact thing in different terms., I suppose he thinks everyone is stupid!! I promised him that if I didn’t have confirmed tracking info by close of business Tuesday 11/29 on Wednesday 11/29 I would be contacting NY AG, BBB, FCC, my bank, PayPal and everyone until I had them shut down and then some. I fully agree they stumble upon the site from China and went for it! Steve attempted to sound as if he were a savvy business person but too bad for him we’ve ran a legit business for 30 plus years. He was clueless!! I also reminded him legit businesses don’t charge ones credit card until product is shipping! I asked him point blank did they accept our payments up front as a “front” to purchase their “stock” of course he darted around that question!! I promised him I’d be his worst nightmare and I will!!

    So, I am totally stressing out now…LOL! I did order and pay with Paypal so I am hoping my information would be protected. I did know there was a chance this wasn’t real when ordering. But, like so many other parents, the smile on Christmas morning was worth the risk. For now, I am keeping my fingers crossed that this is real and that we will receive our orders soon. Otherwise, there are a lot more things I could have spent that money on 😉

    What this company is doing is wrong. They are taking advantage of the current high demand of a top quality product here and trying to quickly put something together to sell as an alternative. That wouldn’t be so horrible if it wasn’t for a major points. First, the Hibou is a cheap Furby knock off that has been around for a bit. They’ve been around and have not gained popularity because their product is very low quality (material wise and when it comes to functionality). This company is ages behind when it comes to technology like this. My good friends wife is from Brazil. They travel a lot, he most recently was working and living in Malaysia. Someone purchased one as a gag gift for him before coming home (saying it would be their replacement as his new best friend). They are insanely cheap and cheaply made. The best way I can describe what is going on right now is by using the clothing scam shops as an example. I know everyone has seen “Rose Gal” Facebook page (they go by many other names as well). They post photos of designer clothes for sale, but once you’ve ordered and received them – they look nothing like what you ordered. Half of the time they are a falling apart mess. It’s horrible. This is basically the same situation, except they have taken their already existing Furby knockoff and are putting it inside an egg for it to hatch out of (which according to their site, it may or may not do). So it is literally the exact same product. On top of it all, they are jacking the price up to the normal retail value of Hatchimals and that is what makes this a scam. Their rebranding and photoshopping are fooling many right now (I work in the web design & development field and I have branded many products). I can tell you from experience what they have done here was little to no effort. All they changed was the background and logo on what was previously, and still remains the Hibou application. That takes all of about an hour at the most (for me to do anyway, as a professional). I’ll post some videos after this with the real toy you’ll be buying, except in an egg. From there, you can make your own judgement on quality and wether or not you want to pay $40-$50 for a toy that’s not even $20 of value.

      Thank you for sharing your experience and opinions here Keene! I know when I started this I was doubted if the product was even real. How could it look so much like a furby and not be a trademark violation or some such I wondered. Heck, how could it do all it promised I wondered. It became clear that this is actually a real product and that at least makes me happy! Are they knock offs, by the definition I think so. Does that make them bad? Not necessarily I think, I mean I buy off brand corn flakes because I like them better and my kids will not eat them all on me. LOL I was thinking about the $15 the manufacturing company takes to make these from that now dead link in post, possibly more depending on packaging, then shipping costs to the company, the added costs of web design and development and the costs of site upkeep even. It adds up. Plus watching Shark Tank and seeing how margins commonly work and I am no longer so shocked by the Fuzzy Wonderz price tag. Granted the name brands are about that price, but near impossible to get. I am thinking if this all works out, the value is good. As someone who has a hatchimal, that does less, I would think the value is good. Or at least I am trying to keep an open mind and hopeful. Really though, I could be so wrong and I know it. Most people who have come here are feeling that dread. We just don’t know. Yet.

        I spoke with a representative at Pay Pal today who assured me that if you paid with them, your information is completely safe and protected. I was also told that they would likely be able to get a refund for over 100 days. This makes me feel a bit better about my decision to take the risk, too.

    I just ordered a fuzzy wonder and I have to say, I’m sitting on the edge of my seat! I hope and I mean I really do hope that this thing shows up. The website reports (as all of you already know) that it will ship in two days. I immediately got the email receipt and I paid via pay pal. So I should have it by Thursday or Friday at the latest. I’ll keep you all posted and take lots of pics if it shows up (though I have no intention of hatching it, its a gift). Keep your fingers crossed!

    Here’s the latest…Fuzzy Wonderz now has an app on google play store. So far only ONE person has downloaded it and given the app one star. I have two phones and plan to download the app on the phone without banking information IF and when my fuzzy wonder arrives. It looks to me like this is either a scam or an evolving business…either way, its got me a little ‘noid. I’ll keep posting as things come up.

      Comment however you like here, with what ever name you like. I am not connected to the company at all. From what I gather they are issuing refunds to people who request them, though no one I have heard from has gotten it, I know it takes a few days. Mostly people are being told that the next big shipment goes out tomorrow and I have seen the company saying to contact them to make sure you are on the list to go out tomorrow if you are concerned.

    I talked w/ them via facebook today…supposedly if you ordered anytime before today they are supposed to be going out this week. I agree it does look an awful lot like that Hibou toy…but maybe they’ve enhanced them some? I also asked how it hatches and they said something in the egg itself actually does the cracking…rather than the animal like w/ the hatchimal. Yea $60 is a lot but now I’m super curious lol. I used paypal too so knowing that I can get a refund for up too 100 days is good.

    They also explained that they are still working on their returns portal (I questioned that too…since it seemed a bit suspicious that link just redirected back to the main page).

      Thanks for the update Jeff! I am suspected the egg was self hatching some how and look look forward to seeing how that works! Thanks also for asking about the return policy. Steve didn’t seem to have an answer for me, as if he thinks none of the products will be defective but this an electronic toy and even the “big boys” with well known products and huge teams behind them have issues. Look at the returns happening with Hatchimals right now, the eggs failing to hatch for some because they was an issue in some production point, and then some of the hatchimals are dead on arrival and never hatch at all. Their return office is busy sending new ones to people! We got lucky, no issues with ours but it has made me very aware of issues with toys and how important a clear return policy is. Steve really seemed to think a defective toy in all the bunch couldn’t/wouldn’t happen. It made me scratch my head. Hope they get that sorted ASAP.

    So I ordered one of these last night for my granddaughter and today my daughter texted me with all of these concerns. So needless to say I am now among the worried. Their site came up on the Walmart site and actually I thought initially that I was ordering this from Walmart until it came time to pay. That caused me some concern but then when they had paypal available I assumed it was a legit site. I hope it turns out ok but I am going to my paypal account and changing my pw.

      Paypal assured me that your information is secure. From what she explained… paypal sends the payment and then paypal debits your account…not the company you purchase from. So the company never sees your information ever.

    I have only hatched 1 hatchimal as well…no issues. But I’ve read of some where it activated in the box, or just for some reason didn’t peck at all or something. I want to hatch more for sure…but am waiting until they are more available.

    Finding no company bricks and mortar address information on their website, I did a “reverse look up” on the phone number and it shows as a land line in NY, NY. I looked at the BBB and they have no scam report of them. I asked them to do an inquiry and let me know so I will keep you updated.

    If you look at the hatching video on youtube (it does NOT hatch! It’s stop n motion of the egg getting destroyed from the outside) + nobody has a shipping number after 3-4 weeks it is 100% clear that it IS a scam!

Unless you can find a physical address. A first and last name, As well as a legit distributor I do not believe this is real. I am contacting a friend in the FBI who works with fraud.

My PayPal complaint is listed as still awaiting other party. Sadly I think we are all wasting our time crossing anything as I don’t feel anyone will get the product. They’ve not only deleted all of my comments on Facebook they’ve blocked me!! How’s that for fab customer service?? Screams scam to me.     Sorry all of you are having issues. Please do not delay calling your credit card companies and disputing this charge. They are playing the delay game and you only have 60days to get your money back from the credit card company. They are hoping to string you along til it’s too late. So buyer beware and good luck stay away from this would be my advice.

    Hi everyone. I too bought a “fuzzy wonderz”. It was an impulse buy. I should have done my research, but after searching everywhere for a darn hatchimal, I came across this. I called to cancel the order same day (this was Monday the 28th) after reading people’s issues w the company. They assured me of a refund so fingers crossed.     Do you have an email where i can send you screen shots? They told me my order was going to ship yesterday. Asked for tracking today. Thry said it may not ship until NEXT wednesday now. Ive escalated this at paypal and they have filed a claim. If they do not respond within 10 days I will get a refund automatically. If they do not provide verifiable tracking for shipping my order Ill get a refund. We need to ensure everyone knows if they ordered through Paypal they are covered.. They need to notify Paypal ASAP once they have not received their order. Paypal will then begin a claim and youll get an email with a claim number and more details. If you ordered through your credit card or debut card directly, at this point Id be afraid that it has been comprimised and if it were me Id freeze it and get a new card. Contact your bank/credit union/credit card company and flag it as a fraudulent charge.

    I feel like I have been more than pleasant and more than patient with you guys thus far. When I have been in contact via email or by phone I have remained patient and polite, but I am starting to feel like that is being taken advantage of. You can see here the email trail. Let me tell you about my phone trail:

    Spoke with Steve on the phone prior to Thanksgiving (might have been Tues or Wed) to discuss my order status. He told me they were planning to ship my order on Friday.

    On Monday the 28th I called and spoke with a woman (didnt catch her name) who told me that My order was queued but did not have a shipping confirmation number yet for me.

    Tuesday I spoke to Tony, who told me he was unsure why my order had not gone out, and that he would check with accounting and get back to me.

    This morning (now 11/30, ten full days after my order and promised 2 day shipping) I spoke again with Tony, who didnt have any more answers for me other than they were waiting on a shipment from overseas, but that they were shipping (in stock) from your warehouse (dont remember the state he told me, I feel like it was near the east coast). He said my account mentioned it was shipping Friday (last?) but he didnt have any answers for me. Took my phone number and told me Steve (who is a manager?) would be calling me back today.

    Your offices are now closed and I again cannot resolve this, despite over a week of trying on my end.

    I understand that this endeavor of yours grew bigger than expected and that maybe you were unable to fulfill the huge demand in a timely fashion….but some honesty would be appreciated, especially to a customer as myself, who has been polite and patient through the process.

    At this point in the tirade Im done with the run-around. I expect a phone call to attend to this huge headache from someone with authority. Be it the owner, or whoever. I am extremely frustrated, and after the hoops Ive been through expect compensation for my anguish.

    I ordered 1 on 11/23, very quickly without doing research. After following this blog and finding no real info, I called yesterday and asked for a refund. I spoke to “John” and he said the refund should be back in my account within 3-5 business days depending on the bank.

    If I don’t see the refund by Wednesday of next week, I will dispute the charge with my bank. I hope I can recoup the $60.00. If not, expensive lesson learned.

    Sadly, my granddaughter wanted a Hatchimal and I feel for this imaginary knock off.

    I’ve been on hold with the “longer than usual call volume” tape playing at fuzzy wonderz for the last 11 minutes and I’ve decided to get on line with paypal and request my refund but there is no information on paypal regarding my fuzzy wonderz purchase!
    For all of you who have paid via paypal, get on line RIGHT NOW and print out the paypal receipt or do a screen shot on your computer. I cannot find ANY information from paypal regarding this purchase. I should’ve known better when I didn’t get a receipt from Paypal regarding my purchase (this usually happens).
    We have to find a way to shut these guys down! FUZZY WONDERZ IS NOT ONLY A SCAM but they have found a way to build a fake paypal site! Request new credit cards immediately!

So here’s my guess on why no tracking info until 12:7, on Friday of last week when I spoke with Steve he mentioned something about “things coming from China getting stuck in customs” or something along those lines wish I could remember exactly what he’d said. So I honestly think the products are truly stuck in customs and he “thought” they’d have them released by 1129 which is why they promised tracking on that date. I suppose they are giving 12/7 as the date now and are hoping that customs releases them by that time. I do hope for the folks who haven’t requested refunds and are awaiting the cheap knock off that they are released!! Nothing makes me madder than to be purposely ripped off!!!! I’m still convinced they took everyone’s money so they had the capital to purchase these Fuzzy Wonderz.     Hello All!
    In a panicked response to my realization that paypal doesn’t have any record of my transaction with Fuzzy Wonderz, I called and spoke to a paypal rep.
    The gentleman I spoke with searched through my account for transactions with the card I have on file with them (which is the card I used to buy the fuzzy wonder) and there is NO RECORD OF THE FUZZY WONDERZ TRANSACTION as far as Paypal is concerned. Which means that the Paypal link Fuzzy Wonderz is using is FAKE. This point was solidified when the paypal rep asked me if I manually put in my credit card info for the purchase, which I did.
    Normally, I wouldn’t have to because paypal already has the card number on file in association with my account.
    Please note, manually putting in your card number doesn’t ALWAYS mean the company is a fake. My rep says that this sometimes happens and when it does, the transaction goes into a guest file with paypal. You can still research it with paypal and they have recorded the transaction and can provide you with not only protection for the purchase but a receipt as well.
    With Fuzzy Wonderz this was not the case. The link was fake and it bothers me that my information popped up immediately, leading me to think I was using my paypal account when I wasn’t. Now I have to scrub my computer as well.
    Scary right? I mean these guys are likely hackers or coders because my email info came up as soon as I clicked the Fuzzy Wonderz Paypal link, which made me think it was the real deal.
    But it was not.
    I say again, THE PAYPAL LINK ON FUZZY WONDERZ IS FAKE!
    Okay, now that we know that Fuzzy Wonderz is a scam, there are a few things you need to do RIGHT AWAY if you purchased with them.
    1. Contact Paypal (if you used the fake link) and change your password and your security questions because Fuzzy wonderz now has your email address used for paypal, the answers to your paypal security questions and your credit card number.
    2. Call your bank, cancel the card and put in a claim reporting fraudulent activity. Bank of America has refunded my money in less than an hour. No matter who you bank with, the sooner you report the fraudulent activity, the sooner you can get your money back.
    3. TELL EVERY ONE YOU KNOW TO STAY AWAY FROM FUZZY WONDERZ!
    Having said all that, continue to chat with other folks if you spot a scam because we’re all consumers at some time or another and sharing savvy information is the only way to keep these scammers out of our lives.
    Personally, I’m going to find something else to buy my niece (she begged for a hatchimal but it will likely be a July birthday gift at this point) for Christmas and I will be sure to put as much time, effort and consideration in her affordably priced and well researched gift.

Anyone who tries to contact me via Facebook I’m not active at all but am checking it at this point. I for some reason can’t get private messages it tells me to download an app I suppose?? Not doing it as once these scammers are stopped I’ll go back to my once if month checking Facebook. My email address is listed and I d made Facebook public. I’m also called Hatchimals I can’t think of the company name right now. They had no clue that Fuzzy Wonderz were showing up in sponsored ads on different sites. They said legal would contact me as well as look into it. I’d hate anyone to get tripped up as I did thinking they were getting the real deal. Yup I’m that non techie!!

    Type in Fuzzy Wonderz Facebook. Click on the comments. A woman has posted the registration email,address and phone number of the company out of Flordia. Use that info to file a complaint w the bbb. I also think news stations and authorities can use this to find them.

    I also ordered a fuzzy wonderz out of desperation after not being able to find my daughter a Hatchimal on Black Friday. I was skeptical but decided to take the chance. I called and have been given the same song and dance as everyone else. After reading all these comments, I do think the fuzzy wonderz business was likely started by amateurs with good intentions but they went about it the wrong way, got in over their heads, have not been able to produce the product in the promised time frame, and now have a bunch of angry customers. I think the person who commented above who speculated they started selling the product without actually having the product produced yet is on to something and they probably needed the money upfront from customers to fund all or part of their operation. They probably thought they could get away with it and customers would be none the wiser but now they have not received their shipments from China to be able to finish producing the product in the time frame they had originally planned. For some reason, I do believe the product stuck in China/customs story. Either that, or they were scammed themselves from a Chinese supplier, did not receive the right supplies, whatever. It’s too bad they just won’t be 100% honest about whatever is going on. I don’t know, this is all speculation. I just think if it was really a true scam, they would have already shut it down, taken the money and ran. Out of pure curiosity, I have decided to not ask for a refund yet and am going to wait it out a couple more weeks and see if anything actually comes through. I did pay with PayPal and the transaction is showing up in my actual PayPal account. I do think if a fuzzy wonderz actually is produced and if/when anyone finally receives it, it’s just going to be a cheap knock off of a Hatchimal.

      That’s exactly what happen Steve from FW told me that at times things get stuck in customs coming from China. I don’t remember his exact statement. Basically he admitted they didn’t have the product and asked me to use digression and not share that info! Ok dude I did as asked until it was confirmed they are scammers!

    I just attempted to call their customer service to request tracking information due to no updates since ordering, and being promised 2 day shipping. I was greated with a recorded message stating they are experiencing high call volumes and I could email them directly and even provided the email address. The recording would sound as if ringing and then repeat the same message. It cycled through about 5 times and then disconnected.

    They posted a new video about an hour ago… The hatching in the new video looks nothing like the first one. I still think they are actually trying to produce this product but their plan has backfired. If it really was a scam with no intention of ever producing any product I don’t think they would still be posting videos and responding to people at all. We’ll see if and when they actually come through.

        I am leaning toward they are not a total scam. They have gone from a photoshopped picture, to a video with what appears to be still frames put together and the egg cracking from the outside, an app, and now a new video with the fuzzy wonders in actual packaging and box with real kids. This latest video posted today actually looked legit and not doctored so maybe they are making progress. I don’t think they would be still be doing all this with the videos and such if it was a total scam with no product intended. I think they have definitely gone about this the wrong way with poor planning and not being completely upfront with customers. They most definitely should not have kept promising people shipping on xxx date if they couldn’t come through.. It has sent everyone into a frenzy (understandably so, nobody wants to get ripped off), but could’ve probably avoided a lot of the upset if they would’ve just been honest. I’m still holding out for an actual product.. We’ll see!

While searching for Hatchimals online, an ad for the Fuzzy Wonderz appeared. I was ready to order one but wanted to find some reviews before I made the commitment. Your website was very helpful. Needless to say, after reading your blog and all the comments, I didn’t order a Fuzzy Wonderz.

I hope no matter what that your Granddaughter have a beautiful Christmas, clearly she is loved and that is most important. I have heard that many stores and online will have hatchimals released in December 4th! I highly recommend checking sites like Walmart at midnight to see if it is true! Be on the look out!

    I’m continuing to follow what is going on with Fuzzy Wonderz to see if/when they start shipping the items. I think their biggest mistake was posting that the items were in stock and ready to ship. If they had posted that customers are pre-ordering the items with guaranteed delivery before Christmas, as well as posting several videos demonstrating the product, I think they could have avoided a lot of irate customers.

    I feel like there is more due diligence that needs to be done in order to properly investigate this situation. It appears the Hibou has been around since 2014 https://youtu.be/skYRUhKLro0

    It’s a cheap Chinese Furby knockoff. It’s obvious that an enterprising American decided to bulk order these and rebrand then to capitalize on the Hatchimals craze. If you watch the video on the Facebook page, you will notice the adult takes out the egg from the box very carefully. It appears the martial is very permeable and it “cracks” by the kids simply picking it up and touching it. The app looks shoddily made, which is par for the course with Chinese knockoffs. I wouldn’t say this is a scam, but it looks like a poorly made product. Something you would find at a flea market. I’m guessing the US distributor who decided to rebrand the Hibou is in over his head. It seems like a situation where they sourced large quantities of an item from unreliable Chinese manufacturer. The egg component was probably haphazardly thrown together in order to mimic the Hatchimals product. I doubt anyone will receive this toy before the holidays and if they do, it will be a big letdown.

I hope they prove me wrong. The IP address is from Canada btw not NYC. I urge anyone to ask them their company HQ if they speak to Steve, or Tony.

      A Hatchimal though is not like a Hibou. A Hibou is more of a knock off Furby. Furby was the first if I understand correctly to have a little interactive robot pet with an interactive app. A Hatchimal is a little hatching robot pet that while interactive, it doesn’t have an APP like the Furby/Hibou/Fuzzy Wonderz. The Hibou doesn’t hatch (though the new Fuzzy Wonderz we are told do). The Hibou doesn’t move and walk like a Hatchimal does. There are a lot of differences but one thing I know, the Hatchimal is not a Hibou. A Hibou is more an older generation Furby.

    12/5/2016 I just got off the phone with Steve. It seems like Steve is the only person who works at this place. I did the stupid thing and did order for my son who has autism. I asked Steve if his business was legit he stated” there orders are behind and my product will ship out on Wednesday. I asked for a tracking number or something to track this. He stated when this is shipped out he will put a tracking #. I asked for his bosses name, CEO name, he stated he cannot give any names because this is a privately owned company. I did notify the AG office in New York and Ottawa, Canada. They have been getting quite a bit of notification on this so called Company. Also Steve would not give me address for this company. He would allow me to talk to any other employee at this business. I could hear people laughing and talking in the back ground, this sends red flags up because if they were busy they would not be laughing or maybe their laughing at all the stupid people who did order and their making good money for this scam. I asked Steve how he could sleep at night, for stealing money and depriving children and their families joy at this time of year. He stated not to make it a personal matter. So if every body calls AG office and New York and Ottawa, Canada. They get caught and get some type of embezzlement, fraud charges and get some prison time. So lets find this SOB and hurt him in the pockets and take away his freedom. KARMA is a Bitch Steve.

    Used a bit tech & time to investigate – they own more than dozens of other shopify shops (mainly clothing and tech like hoverboards) and a lot of shops never shipped a thing(except a few like hoverkicks – they even got a patent for that but shoes are shipped from overseas and still a lot of scamwarnings and complaints – same like here: deleted comments…oh and Steve from the support shows up too!) but even then the products are mostly broken within days – no money back. All whois privacy protected with just the same menu and “about us..”. It is for sure in NY… some mentions are Maxima E-Commerce Holdings LLC “463 Seventh Avenue, New York, NY 10018” but I would guess they move around or just rented the mailbox… “712 stewart avenue” is mentioned a few times too, even in court papers… both adresses don’t match the used phone number.

    IT’S WAY BIGGER THAN FUZZY WONDERZ – wonder why nobody really investigates it 🙁

    I ordered one on Nov. 16th and have not received it. I paid with paypal and they are looking into it but they have to give them at least 10 days to respond. I have been given the run-a-round from this company. When I first called them they said the toy would shipped out in 2 days. Well, I never got it! Sent them a message because I could not reach them by phone. I finally got a message saying That it would be shipped out on Dec. 7th! I got mad and called them again and FINALLY someone answered so I proceeded to tell him that I did not want the toy and wanted my refund. Well, guess what? He put me on hold for 30min and then I guess he realized that I wasn’t gonna hang up so he ended up hanging up on me!!! I am so furious! This is definitely a SCAM!!! Also, I sent another message demanding a refund and they have not returned any of my messages! 🙁

    Also, it’s sad that people would stoop so low to do this to innocent people just wanting to buy that special toy for their lil one. I don’t have much money but I went ahead and bought one for my granddaughter since we couldn’t find the Hatchimal. Paypal told me that I would be covered. Paypal said that they have to give them 10 days for me to receive the toy or get my refund. I can’t remember what day I called Paypal to file a dispute but it’s in my emails somewhere. I think they have 5 more days left. I will keep you updated! I do believe in KARMA! This guy will end up in jail, if not, then God will deal with him.

      Angie, you and others certainly deserved to be treated honestly. It is a stressful time of year for many, and being a parent with a child wanting a certain toy isn’t easy. It is sad to see so many parents subjected to so much more added stress by the situation with this toy company and insult to injury, the very rude and poor customer service in my opinion. I hope this all gets sorted and that you can get back to making the season merry for you and yours Angie. Thanks for keeping us updated!

    I wanted to give an update on my order. I ordered on 11/20 waited patiently for the order to process. I did check the site a few days after I ordered it did stater processing will take 7-10 days due to high demand. But that quickly changed back. I did send 2 emails sent a nasty message via facebook called yesterday and got disconnected after 45 minutes. Sat on hold today for 1 hour and 35 minutes. Spoke with Tony. I went off to the point Tony couldn’t even get in an eh. He pulled up my order quickly. He stated they are very overwhelmed with trying to fill orders and that my order will be shippin out tomorrow. Went back at him with I won’t be live that until I have a tracking number in hsand. He really stated that my order will be sent out tomorrow so I assured him if I don’t hear anything by noon I will be calling again and asking for him. The number I called is a new York exchange and I am in Jersey I did threatend to hop a train and be at the door. I just checked my email and as of 6pm I have what seems to be an automated response. I will post an update again tomorrow when I talk with Tony again.

    Been on their FB page tonight trying to warn people and get this I reloaded and their page is gone! Thought maybe they’d banned me but just tried with my friends account and it’s gone! I don’t know if they took it down because the scam is done or if FB took them down because of complaints. Id say thats the nail in the coffin that removes any dobt.

    I have two little boys who have special needs. I wasn’t sure what to do when I heard that their number one gift request to Santa this year was a Hatchanimal. I was shopping on Cyber Monday and seen an ad for Fuzzy Wonderz on their website. I showed them this site and they immediately fell in love with this toy!! I ordered on the 27th and at that time the page said Free 2 day shipping, and if you ordered now this product was guaranteed to be delivered before Christmas. I have become concerned because I have not recieved nor heard a thing about these toys since. I emailed them December 1st asking for information on my order and just was sent an email saying my order will be sent out this weekend and they will send me an email with tracking information. I wrote them and told them six days getting back to me, was a little much…. and if they can guarantee these toys will be at my home before Christmas Eve, then I still want them and if not send me a refund. I can’t believe this. I was so stupid not too research the company. I just figured if they were on the walmart site they had to be real and reputable. Praying they do come and I don’t have two children who are incapable of understanding what back orders, or shipment issues mean when it comes to Santa. The money I spent also could be used for actual presents under our tree. I am low income. Thank you for letting me reply on this issue and for writing about it.

    I understand the accusations with the unreal fb-profile – found the problem on the facebook site of one of their other companies where severeal “employees” had photos that were stolen from the web.

    Still, I too am hopefull they send out today (photos arent stolen and they alwas mentionened 7th of december) but I still dont think they can hatch! On FB they mentioned the fuzzy to move around and up and down in the egg (thats why the beak is anouther height) but if you look at a screenshot of the just opened egg – the ears are way to wide for the fuzzy to move an inch up.
    They will just say – oh sorry some have malfunctions just like the real hatchimals but as it is for christmas – kids will still rip them open and they’ll tell you no refunds…can’t get a hand on them..

    Hey Steve – better use a whitelist- mailing system like mailchimp next time! It’s the mails that break your neck!!

    i also purchased one girl fuzzy wonderz.and again it was advertised on the walmart website.i paid through paypal which i have contacted,and was probably the best customer service i have ever recieved.great help they were.after reading all the responses on this site i had felt like i was scammed,that is why i took action.ive tried numerous attempts to call them and a few emails with no response.paypal said they have 10 days to respond.low and behold,i checked my email this morning and i have a ups tracking number and confirmation that it is being shipped!hopefully it shows up and it isnt a piece of junk…so i guess they are legit..sad thing is i was fortunate enough to get a hatchimal last weekend at toys r us

I hope everyone else gets refunded back too! I don’t even think that they are actually making this toy! Its a scam to get our hard working dollars! Disputed the charge on my credit card yesterday and received an e-mail from the credit card company that the dispute was settled in my favor and the credit to my account would be permanent. If you utilized a credit card for payment you may want to dispute the charge.

    They are manufactured from china ! And they have to wait on there shipment from china to give it to us and plus it’s the holidays and baackordered that’s the problem ! Anything u order from china takes weeks !! They have a new article out and it explains why. They should have thought this through before starting their business relying on of the country to ship our orders!

    I got notification from fuzzy wonderz that my order was canclled and paypal said my claim was closed as I should be getting a refund. Hopefully!!! Even with tracking numbers now appearing and pictures of shipments Im still a very unhappy customer as I ordered under the false pretesne of 2 day shipping and Im still not convinced this is not a scam!! I will gladly take back my accusations of this being a scam ONLY IF people begin to receive these and they hatch as they should and are what this company says they are. In the meantime I believe this is a scam.

    I ordered on Oct 26, emailed them 11/30 got same as everyone confirmation # being sent out on the 7th if not before then. That never happened either, called today spoke to Tony told him to cancel order, he looked it up and said great news your order will ship tomorrow and delivery on Monday. I told him I had better news for him cancel the order. What I found interesting was he said when it arrives refuse the package.Are they trying to ship before refund?

    My silly father went ahead and ordered one of these for my niece, while I told him I was working on getting a real hatchimal, which I was eventually successful in doing. Ordered on 11/22 I believe, got shipping/tracking information today by speaking with “Tony”. Tracking info says scheduled delivery date is tomorrow, item still in China as we speak! Ha. My dad was so happy and proud that it shipped, before me pointing out the time frame of deliver was just about impossible. It just keeps getting more and more ridiculous. But I assume something has shipped…

    Stealing people’s money under false pretense’s that they will recieve a product in 2 Days is in itself against the law. Stealing people’s money for a product that doesn’t exist is against the law. YOU are all getting scammed still. This “Steve” is a fake person that is likely in a room of 20 guys in a call center in India laughing their asses off at how gullible desperate parents are for a cheap toy. Until this toy is actually in someone’s hands i choose to believe we are all getting scammed. I would not call him, i would straight up report him to the authorities. The fake UPS labels, are beyond disturbing. The fake videos, are beyond disturbing. The fake boxes stacked in a drycleaning facility are beyond disturbing. The people calling him and his family are beyond disturbing. This guy has ZERO conscience. THIS operation is getting pleasure stringing people along. REPORT REPORT REPORT. I did to the FBI, BBB, and will continue to dispute. My credit card won’t cancel unless there is proof – they have scammed the credit companies bc they have fake shipping labels.

        Yup, Steve is a real person, with a real family, working for a company that has done some sketchy stuff in my opinion. He is a human being. He is no more deserving of having his personal information posted publicly because of the company he works for than a soldier is deserving of that same treatment because of what their country does. I think we need to be careful about what we assume without proof. So far as I can tell, Steve has worked as customer service for a few companies that drop ship from what people have shown, I have seen nothing showing him as an owner. Lets remember the hard job most customer service reps have, never mind ones who have companies that put them in this situation.

    Glad people are finally starting to get them. As for me…nothing yet no update no tracking nothing. If I have no update by next week I guess I’ll have to start a paypal dispute. Really don’t want to do that b/c I want the product but I fear somehow my order got lost 🙁 I’ve tried contacting them several times but once their facebook went away I’ve not been able to get any sort of reply at all via email or phone.

    I contacted Fuzzy Wonderz today to find out when my girl Fuzzy Wonderz was going to ship. I had not received a tracking number yet. Brian at Ext. 559, told me it had shipped today (12/9) and I would received a tracking number tonight once they had closed out everything that night. Instead of receiving a tracking number I received a cancellation notice. I also got a refund notice from paypal saying it was refunded. i tried calling again and they were closed for today. I have to call back on Monday. I sent off an email saying I did not cancel the order. Now I am going to have a very disappointed granddaughter. These people are very unorganized.

      Oh my goodness, I thought things would be getting better once people started to get orders but today has been full of people reporting on getting broken eggs and others reporting on getting canceled for seemingly no reason. What a mess. I hope you can reorder and get some answers.

      I ordered 2 of them and got my confirmation number on 11/28 and transaction on my credit card 11/29, I checked today on my order and it says CANCELED on 12/7. I did not cancel my order but calling my credit card company now to dispute the charge.

    I had a paypal claim that would refund me tomorrow but it came today. I had ordered three. One boy and two girl ones. They were cracked a lil and talking so we opened them early. Kids love them and they sing tell stories and such. They are def cute. So glad we got them finally!!

    Today I was told by Sheldon at Fuzzy Wonders that they have temporarily halted shipping in order to improve their packing method to prevent the breakage that is occurring. He assured me I’d have mine by Christmas. Of course, I was previously assured it would be shipped last Wednesday, last Thursday, and by the end of last week. Promises, promises. They were able to process my payment immediately, back in mid-November, but haven’t been able to do much else.

    I am happy to report that I received a shipment confirmation late last night, along with a UPS tracking number and the flippin’ Fuzzy Wonderz will arrive tomorrow!!! Mind you, I ordered mine on 11/29.

    The warehouse is in China and they were not prepared for the massive amount of orders that rode the coattails of Hatchimals. So, hang in there. The shipping is 2 days – even from Hong Kong. Don’t give up – It’s a Christmas miracle. yay! – And I’m not a fake person

    One more thing; Now I am reading that many are receiving them broken. So, I will not get my hopes up yet. I just don’t know how I will know it is broken before my daughter opens it. I don’t want her to open it and find it doesn’t work. I think that would be more horrible than not receiving it at all. I’d rather lose the 60 bucks that have my kid open a defective toy. And she told Santa she wanted one if a Hatchimal could not happen. oh boy

    Finally got tracking last night, supposed to be here Friday. And…get this. F.Y.E. is now carrying these, and has them in some stores. I was able to get one tonight at the one in my local mall. If I hadn’t gotton a tracking number I would have just cancelled. They have them on their website too but it seems they may be out of stock already as its now a pre-order for availability on 12/17. But the store had several…at least 12 or so.

        Yes. Got it in 2 days. I finally got the chance to open up the box. We kind of have to hide bc of our nosy kids. LOL. It was in all honesty-) well sealed and well packaged. I opened the seal and it’s nicely closed. I refuse to continue this battle of the hatchimal and this will do just as good of a job. She asked for an egg with a creature. We did so many lines. And at this point, I really think the store employees of target are the ones buying them before they hit the shelf.

          I have heard over and over about employees taking them to resell or saving them for people they know. Easter will come and Hatchimals should be easy to get then. I still do not think they are even worth their MSRP. At least the Fuzzy Wonderz has an app!

  131. I waited a week…nothing so I called on 12/9 and cancelled my order verbally…they had not yet been shipped. Refund promised 3-5 business days. So…. a week later on the 16th I emailed them asking where my refund was. An hour later, I get shipping confirmation..WTF!!! But no delivery date.

    On the 14th, I received an updated email stating my order was processed, a tracking number and a promise it would be here in 2 days. (Today) Well, low and behold, it came!! I opened it up to check it out, looks exactly like the unboxing video above. I guess Christmas morning will tell if it works….

    YIKES!!! FIRST OF ALL….. GOOD HOMEWORK!!! so stupid me, ordered this via Amazon, thought I was getting a Hatchimal from a company called Fuzzy Wonderz. ugh. surprised when it arrived yesterday (took 2 weeks to get here) that it was indeed a Fuzzy Wonderz!!! was tossing and turning all nite trying to decide to keep this thing or send it back. but with all the difficulties you all have had…I might have to keep it??? I hope my granddaughter is not upset that its not the real thing….but just not sure. I even grabbed the box it came inn out of my garbage to repack it. ugh. money is tight so I hate to take the chance to send it back and wait for a refund that might never get here. so confusing. but I am gonna hope for the best….again. thanks for the research you did!!!       Honestly one of the things that started me down this path was that I thought this toy was a dream come true. We had a hatchimal already and my 5 kids hardly touched it after hatching. It doesn’t really do much once it hatches. A hatchimal has no app. A Fuzzy Wonderz has a APP so that is a huge plus to me. (though I don’t have one to tell you first hand.) A few of my kids have been following the Fuzzy Wonderz drama and in short, they want one. Being a reviewer my kids are a bit spoiled with toys, it takes something interesting to catch their attention. This did! All this to say, given the timing, the headache of possible return and hard to come by refunds, I would keep it and put it under the tree! My family didn’t love the hatchimal the day after it hatched, perhaps I think the Fuzzy Wonderz would get more play time! Good luck!

    MINE HAS ARRIVED!!! was on my door step last night wen i got home just like ups said. YAY!!! wish Id have ordered the other 2 now. but hopefully i can get them ordered and here b4 christmas. the box looks pretty legit for a last minute throw together knock off lol. but im sure my 5 year old wont mind the difference. gonna try and load some pics off my phone i took when i go on my lunch break… nebody know how to upload pics on here????

      I wouldn’t order at this point, I would find a FYE to go buy one in person! Someone just commented that they ordered off Amazon, maybe it is real 2 day shipping from them?

        Ordered on nov 27. Promised 2 day shipment. Called on dec 3 and was told by tony that it shipped on wed nov 30 and he would send tracking numbers. Never got any. Called 3 times and no one ever picked up after being on hold for almost an hour each time. No response to any emails Dec 13 sent email canceling order. Response said my credit card was credited. Add of today dec20 nothing i have contacted my credit card company and the better business bureau. They have not responded to either. Next step attorney general office.
