Ramblings of a Mother in Spring

Spring is here and blossoms bloom calling my children and I to go play. Work though must be done. The house is in good order and dark places are being scrubbed and drawers being thinned down, items being rehomed, and toys being taken by house gnome. You see our house gnome comes every now and then to take the things we do not need and give them to those who do, and he sometimes leaves us things to enjoy! The children actually look forward to his visits and he gives them a reminder to pay attention to the toys they love, else he might think it is time for them to get a new home. I like that this helps our children to not get too attached to objects though of course the gnome would not take beloved items from them.

Our home is not the only thing being cleaned though, this blog needs some work done as well. Hopefully a wonderful designer will be along soon to help make this happen!

A trip away this weekend will be refreshing, though you will still find me here from time to time. After that comes Duckling hatching! The children are really looking forward to this as last year was wonderful and exciting.

I love how clean things feel with a plan but I love how magical they can feel with a bit of the unexpected too. As we try to minimize clutter and simplify out home I find myself feeling more free to be creative. The children I have noticed do as well. We have green little things growing now in different parts of the house, experiments here and there and new art work being displayed all over.

Now if only Mommy felt like she could keep up with it all.  LOL  I hope spring is bringing creative joy into your homes as well.
