A circumcision lawsuit ended in a Win against the Dr and Hospital who preformed it!
In short, circumcision is genital mutilation and it needs to stop. There is no educated reason for doing so.
My son is intact. His father is not. I learned about the importance of foreskin while on the forums in Mothering.com I had not thought much on the topic before I started having children and then found myself very lost when faced with facts I had not thought about before. With some research I knew I didn’t want to do it. I did not want my husband though to feel like I was making this choice so without giving him my opinion I asked if he would research the topic on his own and let me know his thoughts on it.
He did.
He was horrified.
It dawned on him he lost something he didn’t get a chance to know was there or why.
He said he would never do that to someone, never mind his own children.
So it was decided. It think some of the videos on it drove it home for him and interviews with nurses who refused to be a part of it ever again.
Why is it not akin to rape? It is so violent and unnecessary in near all cases. It can also be deadly.
Back up a second, could there be a reason to support it beyond the money a Dr and hospital makes from the procedure? Yes, the foreskin is sold and used in products!
