Packaways – Review

THIS IS BOX and he is a blue Packaway! He is a special product to my not so little family because he serves a vital function. He holds STUFF. Now even if your not in a family of 6 chances are you have stuff. Like us, maybe not all your stuff has the perfect home or even worse, there just is no place for some of your stuff in your current habitat. This is the case for my large military family.

We move, a lot. I have lost count of how often at this point, over 10 times in the last 14 years is a safe bet however. Currently we are in an old brick cottage that is considered historical, and sadly too small for us. We have stuff shoved in all sorts of places. Thankfully a hand full of moves ago we started to invest and collect plastic bins. The issue with them we have found though is that they are costly and done live as long as we thought they would. Before we knew it, we had many broken bins, lids that cracked, and a lot of disappointment because as noted above, we spent a lot of money investing in them.

When the chance to review Packaways came up, I jumped on it. Not only do we need help with stuff, not only will we inevitably be moving at some point, but our current solutions had let us down.

So this is what we have learned about Packaways so far:

We love them! The shapes are great but even more so, the colors. With so many of us we long ago picked different colors to keep our stuff in order, if a bin was blue it belonged to our oldest daughter, if it was green that meant it was our sons, and if it was pink it must be our second daughters stuff. This is specially helpful when moving!

These do stack, they are light weight, strong enough for even books, and we have many.

Cost: Cheaper by size than common plastic Bins. They come in 5 sizes too!

Con: Not great for storage in damp places like say the basement, or any place you fear might have bugs, like a crawl space. Yes, we even use a crawl space at this point for storage and well…. spiders! Ewww!

Another great feature of the Packaways is that you can write on them and then wipe off to change what ever label you need to identify what is in the Packaway, or where it might be going.  The handles, the part that makes them not so damp proof is however a great feature for moving. One that is badly needed and lacking in most plastic bins!

And unlike plastic bins, these collapse down for their own easy storage!

The next packaway product we want to try is the under the bed storage one, as that is a space so very under used in our home! In the end, we highly recommend these for moving and storage needs. Be sure to check out Packaway on Facebook!

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
