I love this pan!

Ok so if you read this blog even a little chances are you know I am no Kitchen Goddess. I seem to enjoy making things in the kitchen that are crafty or creative rather than following a recipe over and over. Seems the only thing I enjoy doing over and over is having and raising children and writing and research. Not cooking! It can’t be avoided though right?

When given the opportunity to review the Green Earth Pan I jumped on it though because I like many of you crunchy parents know that most cookware these days seems questionable at best.

Teflon – This can release PFOA’s, toxic chemicals into the air. Known to kill birds but even without having birds in the house they are known to cause infertility and cancers.

Aluminum – Can leach into food and into the body. We already get too much as is in most cases. Too much is harmful to the body causing or contributing to issues from Anemia to Memory loss. Leaching is worse with acidic foods!

Copper – Destroys certain Vitamins and Folic Acid needed by the body.

So what are the options this little crunchy family uses? A few high quality stainless steal pots and cast iron fry pans. While cast iron is safe, it is heavy and you can’t use soap on it and you have to season it and you can’t stick it in the dish washer and you have to take special care of it so it does not rust. When used right sticking isn’t an issue at least.

Now we use a Green Earth Pan! Why?

So knowing I am not expert cook I was thrilled to have my husband home between military trips to use it too. His opinion matters a lot in the kitchen here. Both of us found it to be an easy non-stick pan. No issues, not even for me. What I specially love about this non-stick pan is that our young teen likes to cook and I often worry she will drop one of the heavy cast iron pans. No such worry with this one. It is light and so balanced. We will use bamboo utensils on it as plastic is just not a good idea and metal is not an option on non-stick.

We have a BIG family and have company over often too. I was not sure this meal would fit in this pan, never mind not stick as this meal is known for sticking! Not one issue!

 I think we will be getting the other sizes of this green pan as we can’t get enough now and I love how guilt free cooking with them is.

Why buy the best organic food to just ruin it with other possible toxic pans? It is just not worth it. This pan is worth getting in my opinion. I hope to someday update this post after this pan has seen years of use! Be sure to check back! What a perfect eco-friendly product!
