Oklahoma Tornado Disaster: What NOT to do!

One of the best times to see human goodness can be after a disaster. We see heroes on TV like teachers who shielded children with their own bodies to protect them. We see rescue workers who will not stop until they have done all they can. We see donations flood in to help those in need. We want to help too! Did you know though that our best intentions can actually be more harm than good?

The Red Cross who where on the scene of devastation in Moore on Monday urge us to not help in certain ways:

What you shouldn’t do is send specific items, clothing or shoes.

Don’t drive down to help on your own.

“We don’t want to tax an overburdened system right now,” said Carlos. “So you don’t want to just get in your car to go down there to help, even with the best intentions.”

A friend who owns a boutique was thinking of sending clothing but then learned that money would be more helpful so now she is selling items on sale and sending money instead. If you would like to learn more about her sale and her beautiful items you can find them at Journeys End Boutique.

Don’t forget:
