October 8th — Mohoc Hat!

This is my Nephew! He is adorable! He and his Mommies have been staying with us the last few months while working the Ren Fair here. He is a year old! I made him a mohoc hat and a taggy blanket for his many car trips, my husband got him big legos!

Everyone loves this hat and I have been asked to make a few more, my son insists on one for him as he was sure when he saw me making that one that it was for him. I thought I would share what I used to make it here in case anyone else wants to make one. I promise it is easy!

First I made the helmet part from this free pattern, it is a baby pattern and to size it up I just adding an additional increase round like the last increase round, simple enough! http://defiknitely.squarespace.com/storage/chullito.pdf

Then I followed these instructions to make the mohoc part. Very simple, just very time consuming! http://defiknitely.squarespace.com/storage/chullito.pdf

Have any questions, let me know!

I love your nephew’s hat. Such an adorable kid. Are those hand-knitted?

Thanks! I hand crocheted that one actually. They have knit patterns online but I only had a little time and I am faster with crochet!
