Not at her desk!

A new friend asked me why I homeschool. I get this question a lot and I believe most who homeschool do as well. I never seem to able to put it into words well. I think the above picture is just a few of the many reasons why.

She is all smiles very happy with herself.

Why?

We did a quick read together of a story she has not read in a while. Magic Tree House Book #1. We are up to book #19 and I need to get it for her already. Till then, we will speed through the old ones for review and fun.

I asked her create me something from the book. A story, a list of all the Dinosaurs, something… so she pulled out the wax molding pieces and went to work.

See homeschoolers do not sit at a desk or a kitchen table all day. They do not need to be told what to do every second of everyday. They need room to surprise us!

I hopeschool to give my children the time they need to be children and to inspire themselves and to follow their interests. This week my growing Hope child wants to be an artist. I think she is one already.

P.S. Did Mary make up the Dino Anatosauruses? My oldest looked them up and could not find them, I could not either!
