No Mommy Sick Days!

It is ever more common with our internet societies that mothers are feeling the stress of perfection. So many people simply post the best on facebook, smiling faces, vacations, and of course good news. On blogs we see spotless homes and children in cloths that look like they had never been worn or washed before. Not a snotty nose or carpet stain in site.

I am reminding you that I am not one of those Moms! I blog the reality.

Today the reality is that I feel so sick! I am sleep deprived on top of it. Add to this the fact that housing repair showed up to do put in new meters without warning of this huge job that will take most of the day as it turns out and I am a rather grumpy lady. The house is in fairly good order but still, the cat box stinks, my carpet needs to be steam cleaned, and my stove is not the spotless.

Not to mention laundry. Oh, and they have to get into the two small storage spaces this house does have and they are FULL of stuff. Thankfully the many men moved such things out of the way but um… now it is in the middle of everything and making me nuts to look at.

They woke up the kids with loud noises well before the kids wanted to get up. They keep tripping the breaker and leaving us without power over and over, further stressing out the children as the day is rainy and rather dark so it is hard to play with no lights on.

In my imperfect world, I have no way to get the kids out of the house today. No van. So we are stuck with the noise and mess and annoyance. I can not contact my husband at work as no one is picking up. I know why this is, it is because they have big briefings today. So be it. Just my luck though you know?  -sigh-

It is so wrong to say I know but I swear I just want to lean over and puke on a few of these guys who think it is ok to swear around my kids! I feel for them, I really do, not great weather and they are drilling into houses and running pipe and digging a ditch and so much more. I did take a few years of electrical in highschool, I get it, I dug such ditches and ran such wire and pipe on bad days. Still, one should know better than to cuss in front of other peoples children. This is just me venting though really. We all have days like this right? Please if your feeling down about your home, or mothering, be kind to yourself and know your not alone. Sometimes we all drop the ball. Ask for help! You are worthy of it!

We know there are no real Mommy sick days. Sometimes we learn this the hard way. You must take care of yourself though, it is not optional. Part of taking care of yourself is looking at others messes and knowing your not alone! 🙂

P.S. This house needs better air filters and I need another air purifier so we stop sharing this cold!
