No, I do not like Day Light Saving time ending!

Why must we have Day Light Saving Time?

Day light Saving Time (often confused with Day Light Savings Time, no S on the end of Saving) ended November 2nd. It all started Germany in 1916 thanks to an idea  George Vernon Hudson proposed in 1895. There have been many reasons for this but in modern times it is mainly an added benefit to retail and sports after working hours. What isn’t to like about that? Nothing, I think that should be the goal! So why does it end? I just don’t understand.

With Seasonal affective disorder being recognized as a real issue in almost 10% of people in northern states like New Hampshire we need more people getting more sun light! Sun light is said to help with this issue. If people are stuck inside working, at least we could give them some sun light hours after work right?

DaylightSaving-World-SubdivisionsAlthough not used by the majority of the world’s countries, daylight saving time is common in the Western world.

Chicken o’Clock is a mess!

Chicken o”clock is the hour before sun set for my family and our chickens. We got out and take care of them and play together as a family. Being in Georgia often the day is too hot to really enjoy and Daddy is at work so evenings have been special. Over the last few months of course Chicken O’clock has gotten earlier and earlier. I never noticed it as much as a child as I do now. My children are now very aware of it too. Last night we had to start without Dad because Dad didn’t get home till after 5:30, after the sun went down. It was very disappointing.

I propose we double Day Light Savings, that keeps work hours ending a few hours before the sun goes down for normal 9-5 jobs. What do you think?
