A Necklace Perfect for Baby

I was very pleased to have been picked to review a special Amber Necklace for my baby. My baby happens to be two now and growing so fast. She had hit a rocky point in her development that had me wondering if maybe her teeth where hurting her. She would wake at night crying and putting fingers in her mouth, not a normal soothing response from this child of mine. (Her sister sucks her fingers)
The timing could not have been better. Amber teething necklaces are said to help with teething pain. While I love them, I am also a skeptic by nature. A perfect time to see if there was a difference in my child after putting it on I thought. Opening the package that came quickly and neatly from Canada was this lovely necklace. The colors move from light Amber to very dark in a beautiful way. What most surprised me was the texture. I had touched amber before but never had I touched a necklace like this one. Each bead of amber looks tied on, so if it should happen to break (unlikely) they will not all fall off. Each one is shaped a bit different but all are smooth and so very very soft. I admit I touched and petting this necklace for a while. I even asked my husband to touch it and to his wonder he found himself holding it and not wanting to give it back. He inspected it well and remarked at how well made it is and like me, how very smooth it was.
Pulling myself away from it I put it away to put on my baby the following morning when she woke up. I had to get on the site http://www.teethingtots.com/  for this necklace though right away because I recalled there being Mommy necklaces too. Yes, I too want one! They do have Mommy necklaces and it got to me thinking, what if they help with other kinds of pain?

There site says  recent scientific research has showed that succinic acid has a very positive influence on the body. In addition to easing teething symptoms, the succinic acid found in amber is also known to accelerate the healing of wounds, ease muscle pains, reduce inflammation of the throat, ear and stomach, reduce/prevent respiratory disease, decrease colic symptoms, reduce acid reflux, reduce eczema and improve heart, liver, kidney, and intestinal function.”

You see I have fibromyalgia, meaning at any given moment I could have any given number of painful areas ranging in intensity of dull to causing me to be sick. Some days can be very difficult. Before buying one specially for me though, I wanted to review this one on the baby.

After near a month now I admit I think it helps, or the phase passed…. ironic it would pass about the same time she got the necklace on though right? She is such a happy baby by nature and so when she was having a hard time it was clear, and when she went back to her normal self it was clear as well.

The necklace looks wonderful on her. I know it is comfortable and she does not try to take it off. She does wear it often though we try not to get it soapy. There is a bit of special care for amber just as there is for most all jewelry.

So in the end, a necklace for me is going on my wish list. I am not sure it will help with my pain but if nothing else it is just so beautiful and soft and I know I will be touching it all the time.
You can get a amber necklace like this one, a rainbow bean for $22. You can get a matching set for Mommy and Baby for $45. I think the price is perfect and would make a wonderful shower gift as well!
