NaNoWriMo – Day 29

 50,000 words in 30 days!

This means one should have over 48,000 words by now. Do I? No, that might mean that I wasn’t the mother of 4. Of course it is easy to blame the children and not my growing skills in procrastination. Can I call is research? 50k words in 30 days is do-able, I know it is. Out of 7 years, I had done it three times. This however means I have not managed it 4 other times. I would love to even things up. Thinking back to last year, it felt easy, this year though, not so much.

   The Finish Line

The NaNoWriMo Finish line is now open, writers can copy their stories and paste them into the encrypted word checker NaNoWriMo provides. It does not record your story in any way, shape, or form, beyond the word count. Meaning no one is going to read your story on the site this way. No one is going to be able to take your ideas. It is safe! Of course you could copy and paste 50k words from the white pages and the system wouldn’t know it, but you would only be cheating yourself and as you do NaNoWriMo for yourself, that would be rather pathetic.

 So Close

No matter if you have 5k words to finish in the next 29 hours, or 15k words. You can do it! Get on the forums, gather some feed back, or ideas, or find a buddy that has what feels like the same impossible amount of words to write! If all else fails, find some fun ways to kill off your characters or give them the fairy tale life they so do not deserve! Now I must get back to my lack luster characters and make some magic happen before December!
