NaNoWriMo Day 2 — Printable Word Count Calendar NaNoWriMo 2018

Here is a simple and beautiful NaNoWriMo word count calendar anyone is free to use themselves to help them keep track of their word goals. You can print it or use it as desktop wallpaper, what ever works for you!

This is one I made today to help me keep track of my NaNoWriMo word count. Each year I tended to hunt down a NaNoWriMo Calendar to download as wallpaper so I could constantly be seeing my goals. Some years I would print them for a binder to help keep my NaNoWriMo world and novel all in one easy to grab spot.

This year I couldn’t find a NaNoWriMo Calendar that spoke to the theme of my Novel. Keep in mind I am a panster this year, I had no plot at all, zero, zip, on day 1 of NaNoWriMo. I am writings as they say, by the seat of my pants. I managed to dream up a character on day one, and a theme, a few strangling ideas too. I though, have No plot, and it is a huge problem! I wanted a NaNoWriMo Calendar for 2018 that would make me smile and maybe not dwell on all the things for a story I don’t yet have…. so keeping it simple was my goal I think I pulled it off!

I hope you like my NaNoWriMo Unicorn Calendar for 2018! I love it! Please if you post about it some place, give me credit, I didn’t watermark it or anything as I know that can distract, and I am happy for people to use it, just remember me by chance and not place it one your site without a link back!

I did manage my word count today but it was a bit painful. Without a plot I was trapped in my current scene. That chapter has ended and I am left with this “now what” phase without knowing the big conflict or the true motivation of my main Character. It is not a comfortable situation to be in. Having attempted NaNoWriMo all these years though, I have some ideas on what to try in order to pull a plot out of thin air! More on that tomorrow though. It is 3am now and maybe sleeping on these ideas might help too.

Happy Writing!
