NaBloPoMo Day 2

The day is nearly done and just managed to get my word count in for todays NaNoWriMo and now getting this post up for Day 2 of NaBloPoMo. That second one is a mouth full to me still. NaNoWriMo just flows from my lips but then I have been at it for many years! Maybe it will be the same for the blogging challenge in years to come. Either way, they are both great challenges.

So what am I writing about this year? Thats right, wolves, or along the wolf like theme. More on this later though. I don’t want to bore you too soon with details as I have a feeling I will be blogging a lot about my 2012 NaNo. This year I am trying to again reach back into wild days before mother hood and touch a part of myself that I left behind. I do not miss that girl so much as I am trying to connect with myself before babies and being a wife because I am more than just those two things. I know, I know, this is a Mommy blog but I think that helps to prove my point. November, NaNoWriMo is a gift my family, specially my husband gives to me each year. Time to write and explore myself and be hellishly distracted and crazy and demanding. The kids also Call November the month of Parks as we will often go hunting for different play parks so the kids can play and Daddy can keep up with them and I can sit under a tree or even in the van and type. They do so love parks and I love seeing them all having fun while I get to write.

So that is my writing tip for the day, GET OUT! You need to leave your old life behind, go some place that does not distract you, does not demand you make lunch or do laundry or even check e-mail. Go to the library, the coffee shop, the park. Just get out and find a place to write!

You’re doing both, like I am. Good luck!

I totally agree with you. Sometimes I go to our Barnes and Noble or our library….some place that isn’t my apartment so that I can get a change of persepctive. Good luck with NaNoWriMo!
