This wonderful Kombucha Wonder Drink Gift pack showed up at my home a few weeks ago. Big and beautiful and secure. I was excited to have been picked to review it because years back we had been brewing our own in big glass containers. There is an art to it. I think Kombucha is also an acquired taste. I was rather surprised when I tasted the first one, the bottle on the right in this photo.

Essence of Juniper Berry, Spearmint & Lemon Myrtle

It was such a lovely flavor. I expected it to be strong and tart like the kinds I had experienced before. There was a tiny memory if tart but it did not over power the tea. I really liked it! It was bubbly and crisp and refreshing.

Next I tried CHERRY CASSIS knowing I don’t tend to love Cherry flavors in drinks I was again surprised and really enjoyed it. Again, just a whisper of tartness, a reminder that this is a fermented and thus healthy product.

My husband opened the Asian Pear and Ginger flavor. I thought I might not like that one because the last time I had something with a Ginger flavor, I really disliked it. Again, I was surprised as I really like it when he told me I should try it. I then stole it away and finished it all to his joking dismay.

All in all, I found that we liked them all. Every. Single. One. Amazing since as I mentioned, this kind of drink is known for being an acquired taste. You don’t need to love kombucha to love these drinks.

So why might you want to try this drink beyond their great taste? It is known that Kombucha is over 2,000 year old and that some believe it is a powerful antioxidant. Some studies done in the early 20th century showed that this kind of tea prevents and fights cancer. I am not one to believe everything I read but given that I know people who are very healthy that swear by this fermented tea, I have to consider the benefits! Maybe you should too?
