Homeschooling On Vacation

You can homeschool on Vacation
August finds many children going back to school and many homeschoolers again hitting the books, if they ever stopped in the summer in the first place that is. For us, August finds us on the road traveling the country and at the moment on vacation in Mississippi. We are not formally starting our school year till next month but that does not mean we are not still homeschooling!

Crunchy Parents See Learning Everywhere

There is learning to be found around every corner, under every rock, in the sky, and under your feet! In my case the shocking learning experience we had a few days ago wrapped itself around my ankle. A stinging jelly fish. Goodness have my children learned a lot about jelly fish since then. We fully support sea turtles that eat them. Jelly Fish blooms are out of control in many areas due to over fishing. This is going to make many beaches places people can’t enjoy. I hope more people make the connection and fight harder to buy only sustainable sea food. We vote with our money, my children are very aware of this too. Learning can happen any place, any time, and does not need to be confined to a desk or table with a book. It can be out in the world with real learning with memories that will last far longer than a turn of a page.
Document where you go, what you do, and what your children learn. It all counts!

  1. A jelly fish? Did you have to pull it off your ankle yourself? Were you screaming? You know the things you see them do on the Survivor show when someone gets stung by a jelly fish – what a memory you have made for years to come!!!! No one will forget your jelly fish vacation!

How is important to have a plan in a vacation? The thing is you can enjoy the trip with no worries and no doubts. Planning is about organizing some activities, to do or not to do and with the help of Taskcanon, every will be possible. Enjoy!
