I have to share with you the most remarkable hair brush that detangles and doesn’t hurt. I know most parents have heard about such brushes before and with so many daughters you better believe I have tried many of them. I have even liked a few, but most I don’t actually recommend. This brush though, the Dessata, I highly recommend to anyone with long hair, and specially for kids!
I had my doubts when I saw this brush, the bristles are hard for one. I first attacked my own hair, I say attack because each day brushing my own hair is a battle. I have long hair and as it has been dyed, and because I have so much wire greys in it, it is very difficult and often painful. I was shocked at how it just didn’t hurt. I could hear it pulling the tangles apart but I didn’t FEEL it happening like I do with my normal brush. It just didn’t hurt! Even after using it myself I just couldn’t believe it. So I tested it on my 10 year old daughters long very tangled hair, and she was surprised and thrilled. Now I was 100% sold but to be sure, of course I did my 6 years old hair as she is the one that fights getting her hair brushed. She loved it and made me promise to only use this new brush on her from now on.
I then gave the new brush to my teenager who has long thick dyed hair and asked what she thought. She hadn’t seen me testing it on the younger girls and she really didn’t think it was going to work on her hair. By the end she was telling me that we needed to buy a few more in case this one gets lost and she expects her own in her Christmas Stalking! She is now a believer!

While I will say that this brush takes a tiny bit more time to use than our standard one, it really is worth it. Less time spent trying to calm and sooth a child that is hurting and upset! This brush is designed to fit in the cup of the hand giving you more control. Be sure to not brush the back of the neck and really little pressure is needed so don’t push it down into the scalp. There really isn’t a learning curve though so no worries.
Its smart design makes it one of the few detanglers suitable for any hair type, including ultra-curly, fine, brittle, or even children’s hair. My children love it. I think every child with long hair should get one this Holiday Season!

I need this for my sons! I have two boys one with curly hair and the other with long wavy hair. Brushing is always a challenge.
