Probar Fruition was kind enough to send my not so little family their bars to try. I was excited about this as each one is a full serving of fruit, they keep well in the baby bag, and they are vegan, not that my family is but we have friends who are and it is always great to have snacks around that I know are safe for vegan children!
If you follow my blog you might know that I am thinking about going gluten free as I have fibromyalgia and have been told my friends that gluten might be the cause or aggravating the condition. I can not see any reason not to try gluten free other than the fact that I do not want to “diet” but what I want and what is good for me are not always the same things. So this snack also fits well into my family as Fruition bars are gluten free! It’s estimated that celiac disease affects 1 out of every 133 people and generally speaking around 18 million Americans have some degree of gluten sensitivity. That being said, I am betting my children also have friends who would enjoy a gluten free snack as well.
We tried all the bars and all 4 children enjoyed them. The baby, toddler really being that she is 2 years old now, very much loved them and not too messy either. Our older children specially liked Blueberry. I liked Lemon the best and Orange Chocolate the least for some reason. My husband was not too keen on them, maybe it was the texture. He tends to like his snacks to be crispy so that might account for his issues! Men and their issues…. right? Of course I am just kidding. My husband is amazing. I wish he enjoyed fruit more though! He is in great shape however and I am not so who am I to judge?
