#formulaforhappiness – These Odd Things Make Baby Happy

This blog post is sponsored by Gerber® Good Start® and we are so happy to a part of their #formulaforhappiness story!

Formula For Happiness With Baby

It has long been said that parents wish babies came with manual that says just what their baby will want and need and when. Of course there are great books out there but if you are a parent you already know not everything works for every baby. We are all just doing the best we can with what we know. That is one of the things that caught my attention with the campaign by Gerber®. Gerber® is trying to make parents happy by now making all their formula NON-GMO because that is what parents have been asking them to do. Gerber® isn’t saying non-GMO is any better than GMO, they are giving parents a choice that parents have been wanting. We are all just doing our best to raise happy and healthy kids. I am glad to be a part of #formulaforhappiness project and I am going to love reading about the formula for happiness that others parents have come up with that makes life happy with baby!

We are all doing our best. That said, our 5th darling baby is mix fed, meaning breastfed and formula fed. She is thriving and wonderful!

She is however also a handful! Keeping this little princess happy has been a challenge. She is in many ways harder to parent than all out other children put together and has been ever since she was born at 35 weeks. Our Formula For Happiness comes from learning what she loves.

She is now 5 months old and this is what makes her happy.

She Loves: Drives on Bumpy Roads

Country Road

She Loves: Music with Drums

She Loves: Cool Air

She Loves: Long Walks

She Loves: About 10 minutes in any given baby toy, and not much longer!

She Loves: Falling asleep while Nursing

She Loves: Sleeping with the Lights ON.

She Loves: Being lifted into the air slowly over and over till Mommys arms hurt. Oh how she smiles and giggles.

She Loves: Her siblings talking and smiling to her, this is good for about 3 minutes of mommy time to do something else.

She has reminded us just how different each baby can be!

I highly suggest making a list of what things make your baby happy, keep it some place common and when things are just go down the list, even if that means going for a drive on a long bumpy road at a very inconvenient time just to make her happy! While babywearing used to work every time with out other babies, it doesn’t with this baby. I would never have guessed this would be an issue! So we adapt! A happy home at this point is a happy baby and knowing the things she loves!
