I love Elf On The Shelf Ideas
One of the ideas I have seen many parents doing is having their elf leave little notes to interact with the children. It is so adorable seeing friends post about the exchanges the kids have with their magical little santa spies! One elf shared a crazy holiday wish list with her children and unexpectedly one of the children picked out a tiny toy puppy from her toys and left it with a note for her Elf, as the elf had wished for a puppy. So of course now that puppy is part of the fun too and must be moved with the elf each night.
Our Elf is Back!
Glitter has managed to make it back this year to visit the kids. Of course she is late but that might well be why she is our Elf, we seem to be the family just a little late to everything! She left a supportive note for all, and the kids love it! I wonder if any of them will write back to her at some point. I will not suggest it as I want to see how this plays out!
Elf On The Shelf is Creepy
If this is your opinion I can’t say you are alone! Maybe people see them as creepy and some even say they are evil as magic is not against their religion and they distract from the reason for the season and yadda yadda. While I admit, the ventriloquist dummy faces make me shiver a bit. This little added touch may well add to anyones Elf Phobia, so be warned! As I printed out this beautiful snowflake on my Silhouette Portrait Printer I noticed something that sort of jumped out at me. The lace on the snowflake looks a bit demon like. Take a minute to look closer, I will wait here.

I always do the first Elf appearance of the season with a note, but after that I haven’t. This might be fun to add in a few times this year and see how it goes!

I’m kind of sad that Elf on the Shelf wasn’t trendy when our daughter was younger, I so enjoy looking through everyone’s elf shenanigans on Facebook and Instagram!
we don’t do Elf on the Shelf. I just think it’s unrealistic for most busy parents!
Certainly not everyone can do everything under the sun and so we pick and choose. No biggie!
We don’t do the elf either, but that is a whole other story. I love the idea of little notes.
