Each evening of December the children get a new book to unwrap from the Bedtime Elf all the way up until Christmas!
This adorable book was sent to the children by a paperbackswap forum secret santa. I am so thankful and touched by her kindness. I know this is a book the kids will treasure for a long time. It is a book about a little Nerdy Bird who doesn’t fit in at first and hangs out with the cool birds who really want little to do with him. They aren’t so cool after all. In the end, Nerdy Bird learns an important lesson, one all kids should learn about and hopefully not the hard way.
My son liked the very first page, he thought the little Nerdy Bird was very cute. My son thinks he would look like this if he needed glasses. I assured him that with glasses he would still be adorable and still fit his blog nick name here, Mr. Handsome.
Smiling Baby picked this page as her favorite and I honestly am not sure why. She said it just is. Maybe as one of the youngest kids she is used to everyone flying off on her. She is a very independent child though and adores books specially. Maybe she likes that this is the first page where Nerdy Bird gets talked to by someone like himself.
It is a shame I didn’t get a better photo of these pages as this is just so adorable. So many nerdy birds with nerdy things like light sabers! It really made us all giggle and feel at home! We are a very nerdy geeky family you see!
You might think you know the direction this book is going in but I bet it will still surprise you and I don’t want to ruin the ending. The kids loved it and I loved it too! It is very much worth getting for any child, Nerdy or not!
