Day 145

Long before my husband and I knew we would date we were just good friends. One day he showed up while our other friends where busy and asked if I would go some place I had been wanting to visit, a few hours north, Salem Ma. I thought for sure my mother would say no, I was only 16 and he was older and worked for the school system I was in. She however said yes, no ands, ifs, or buts. She liked him, trusted him like no one else I knew. I was shocked and so thrilled. So we went and spent the day talking about facts and fictions and the blurred line between them. I loved the shops, the smells, the books, the books that smelled like the shops. It was a fantastic visit. When we did date a year later we went back a few times. We had a spot we liked to park, shops we made sure to visit.

We decided to try and go back, though neither of us believe the things we once did, we thought we could find beauty in it, after all we still love good smells and good books. However we could not find the parking spots we had just 13 years before, we got lost for what seemed like hours and it just was not the same. The best part of the day was finding a wooden toy for the kids and eating lobster in a little shack and chatting. I loved out life together then, I love it now. It is however very very different! My advice on marriage, accept one another and go with the changes together. Just because all things change does not mean it is no longer right, just a new right.
