Chimpanzee — The Movie

April 20th a new movie hits the theaters, one unlike so many of the others that try to market to our children these days. This one is a true to life story of a Chimanzee. I am very excited about it in part because it is   Directed by Alastair Fothergill (“African Cats” and “Earth”) and Mark Linfield (“Earth”).

What I believe will make this movie different is it’s ability to touch a childs heart for more than a moment, and it could impact them through their lives in a hopes to care more about the planet and how it might effect such animals, because the animals are important. This movie I am in hope will sell our children a passion for conservation or at the very least see animals as important and not lesser animals to disregard

Tonight I take my “sister” Brina, my 12 year old daughter, and 6 year old son to the premier. I am giddy with excitement, as are they. My son is like me in that he love documentaries, specially ones about Dinosaurs and the Ocean. My oldest daughter though is not so much a fan of watching things to learn as she does not find it entertainment like most of her family does. She though loves animals and loves going to the movies so she was eager to come along. We are a Crunchy family that loves Disney.

My little sister Ash will forever be The Little Mermaid, My brother will forever be Peter Pan, and I will forever be Bell, happy as long as I have a book in my hands!

Maybe tomorrow I will tell you all about who my children seem to resonate the most with in the Disney family.
Let me leave you with this trailer to get you in the mood for real magic!
