All About Baby Showers

Hosting a successful baby shower basically comes down to preparation. Any party that is unprepared can be a total dud. So, what does one need to properly prepare for a baby shower?

First set a date and location with the mommy-to-be (she is the guest of honor of course!). Next, grab a pen and start the invitation list. You can choose to make it all women or venture out and have a co-ed baby shower. Once you know who your audience is, plan the menu.

Depending on the time of the shower, you can plan for a brunch, snacks, or a dinner. It’s always fun to keep the baby theme part of the menu…baby back ribs, baby carrots, mini marshmallows, cherry tomatoes…you get the picture.

So, you’ve got the invite list & food menu, now pick your games. A baby shower is not complete without a cliché diaper or baby food sniffing game. Remember not to overload the part guests with too many games. Allow time for chatting and a bit of gossiping.

Keeping within your chosen theme, send out the invitations. Make sure you include: date, time, location, RSVP contact information and possibly a map. You can take advantage of today’s technology and invite guests through email, Facebook, etc. but mailed invitations are definitely more classy (keep in mind your guest list). If the mommy-to-be has registered for baby items, include the information on the invitation. We all know that baby showers are a great way for mom to get a few great gifts. Having a baby can be quite expensive.

Little Me knows the importance of a great gift. They want to congratulate parents of multiples! Through Little Me’s Multiple Birth Program they are offering a “Welcome to the World” gift after your children’s births. To receive your free gift, all you have to do is register.

I had the best baby shower ever. They rented a hall and had food catered in. It’s been years ago and I got tons of great gifts. The one that stands out is diaper service. For a young mother that’s perfect.
