When Southerners Get Snow

Honestly I am not sure what to call my husband and I, we where born and raised in New England with 4 beautiful seasons. However for the last 14 years we have traveled all over and mostly down south. We currently live in Maryland.

So on our vacation visiting family up north I got what I wanted last night, a snow storm! It dumped about 10 inches all told. Half way through the snow though my family found ourselves ourselves shoveling and playing in the snow!

I must laugh that we not being used to snow found ourselves the only ones outside enjoying it at 8pm at night!

SnowToddler

We quickly learned that our toddler specially loves snow. Even after she took her mittens off, and got her little hands cold, she didn’t want to go inside!

SnowBoy

Our 7 year old had a plan, time to make a snow man, waiting till tomorrow just wouldn’t do!

Out oldest daughter got in on it and helped make this snowman taller than she is!

When we finally had to go in, we looked back wondering how the snowmen would do with the rest of the snow. In the morning they greeted us looking a little funny!

We have really loved the snow! we hope it lasts a few more days so we can make a snow fort with the kids and get more sledding in!

I LOVE the upside down snowman!! I grew up in KY with snow and my husband did too in IL, but my kids were born in LA and TX and they just don’t get to experience snow unless we drive them to it! I wish we could a big snow here in TX, just once so the kids could experience making snow creme, making snow forts, snow angels and snow angels.
