Shipping Presents Overseas to Friends and Family

The world seems to be a much smaller place with friends and family located all over the globe, so shipping presents is not always straight-forward.

The world is indeed shrinking, or at least so it seems. Friends and family are often scattered all over the globe as long distance travel is so much easier in this modern age. It is easy also to keep in contact with modern Telephones, Mobile Phones, Applications, and also Social Networking. But sometimes as connected as we can be, it is nice to be able to send a special gift to your special loved ones, and show them how much you care about them. You can even arrange to watch them open your gifts on Webcam so that you can see the reactions on their faces.

Choosing the Perfect Gift

Whether you are looking to send Christmas presents or Anniversary of Birthdays, choosing a suitable gift which is easily shipped to anywhere in the world is not always easy. When you are sending items overseas, you will need to be aware of the overall weight of the parcel, as well as the physical size of the box. This means that the perfect size for a gift is going to be something which is not too big, or heavy, especially if sending multiple gifts. You may find that sending things that are big or bulky will cost a considerable amount to ship. Something which you will also need to take into consideration is if you are sending any items which might be banned to transport, or illegal in the country of delivery. You can check which sort of items would come under this category easily enough online and you will find things such as aerosols, medical waste, batteries plus many others. When you have bought all of your gifts, you will then need to wrap them up and place them in the package that you are shipping them in.

Wrapping up your Parcel

Accidents can happen when things are shipped all over the world, so you will need to make sure that whatever it is that you are shipping is adequately packaged. Make sure that the box you are using is not too big, but has plenty of room inside for presents as well as packing to keep them secure. You will need to make sure that there is plenty of room for all of the presents, but they do not have the room to move around inside, especially if sending delicate objects. Make sure that you do not seal the box, as if you are using a courier to ship your parcel, they may need to check the contents of the box before they will accept the shipment. Now you just need to find the best way to ship your parcel!

Finding the Best Delivery Company

With there being so many different companies that offer shipping services overseas, it is sometimes hard to know who to choose. With websites such as Parcel2ship.co.uk, you can easily find the best transport solution for your needs as they deal with all of the major companies such as DHL, Parcel Force and City Link. This allows them to offer their clients the best rates of shipping parcels to any destinations around the world. You will be able to call or email and get a quote quickly and easily. Al you will need to do is confirm the dimensions of your parcel, as well as the weight, tell them the destination as well as a description and value of the items inside. With this information, you will be able to get a quote which will also have adequate insurance for the parcel, in case of loss or damage whilst in transit. Then when you have made your choice, give the requested information and your parcel will be collected by one of the reputable courier firms. Before you know it, your package will be delivered half-way round the world and you will have made somebody happy!

Shipping presents can be so hard. I often don’t even bother because I don’t want things to get lost or messed up. So a gift card gets sent but this post is very helpful. Maybe this year I’ll try sending gifts again!
