I am joyed to know that one of the things I share in common with so many other people is that our childhoods included Cheerio’s. It was by far the cereal I ate the most and as a Mom I can say solidly it is the one we most often buy for our own kids. It is like a right of passage when babies start snacking on cheerio’s and before you know it, they are sharing cheerio’s with everyone!
I shouldn’t have then been surprised to find my youngest running around the playground one day with her snack baggie of cheerio’s handing them out to anyone she could. I should have grabbed a photo but I was in the moment and also following her picking up all the ones that escaped her little hands and fell on the ground!
One thing is certain, our Rory loves to share and she loves to give people food! She takes this “job” very seriously. Sometimes the only way to get her to calm down and munch herself is to indulge in letting her be the grown up and feed you first!

I remember being very little, perhaps not as young as my youngest but still little, and sharing cheerios with my Pepere, who loved them too of course. He was a man of habits. The same egg and toast and cheerio breakfast every morning with his tea. All laid out, the same way every single morning like clock work. I loved that bit of surety in my days. Alas, I can’t send him a box with my free code that was in the Get a Box – Give a Box Cheerios box so I have to pick someone else… it is too hard to pick! That is awesome! I didn’t notice they were doing that promotion but I just looked and it’s on the box I just got. My 1 year old loves her cheerios. Unfortunately she also loves throwing them to the dog and he more or less just licks them and walks away.
