Room Makeover

Children’s Room Make Over Part 1

While the children are away Mom must play!
Else she may lose her ever loving mind from boredom!
Phase 1 – Get Everything out of the room — Done
Phase 2 – Steam Clean the Carpet, Clear the Walls, Wash the walls
(Marvel at all the crayon on said walls and feel a tad bad about washing it away.)
Phase 3 – Prime the Walls and test colors
This is where I am at so far. I am testing a green color tonight to see if it will work for the grass part of the wall mural for the room. What do you think?
The green paint is supposed to not need primer so I just went ahead and started on a wall a bit. The top though needs to be primed over as the tan has to go. I would like to do a certain kind of paint technique on the upper part so it really must be primed white first, no short cuts there.
Phase 0 really should have been planning! While I have my vision for the walls I am lost as to what to do about the furniture. I am going to paint on dresser for sure to match the green, if in fact I still like the green come morning. I am removing some furniture and I know I will be adding a chair for someone small but also want a chair for me when we read in the evenings. Something comfortable preferably.
Eames Chairs are very UK and all the rage at the moment, or maybe they just don’t go out of style? The green is just a bit different though. Love the wood on it!
Forget the kids room makeover for a moment, I want this one for my room to go with my sewing table!
Ghost Chairs are clear and are sold as dinning chairs but I see them and think they have all sorts of applications in designs for different rooms. This would be lovely as a vanity chair as well and some of them would be nice on a patio too! I wish I was local to the company selling these, they have free shipping in the UK. I love free shipping, it makes me feel like the company cares that I trust them enough to shop online rather than in person so they will foot the shipping bill for me.
I need to come up with a solution for stuffed animal storage after I figure out the chair situation. Then I need to hunt down new bedding for the beds and maybe an area rug. I am a bit worried it all might be too busy at this point. Hopefully it will develop in such a way as to let me know when it is time to stop adding things or when it is time to go simple. Wish me luck!
